I signed a petition yesterday (Calif.) |
|
Guy was in front of Tarjhay with two clipboards. The first one, he said, was to get public pre-schools on the state ballot. I passed on that, but the other one was to limit corporate campaign contributions to those approved by a majority of a company's stockholders. Sounded pretty good to me, so I signed that one.
But now I'm wondering — has anybody heard about this? I only read the text of the initiative that was on the petition. (I asked the guy if he had any more information or if there was a web site, and he said he didn't know of one.) So I wonder if I did the right thing or if I should've researched it first.

1. I hope the Corporate Campaign Contributions is legit, but I don't know... |

ever since Prop 75 was proposed -- the upcoming initiative to restrict union activity and require votes from the membership for all union political acts -- I've been saying I could only support such an initiative if there's a similar one to restrict corporate donations from publicly held companies. Seems there may be others thinking just like me.
