OUR talking point: These right-wingers are POLITICIZING CRIMINALS |
|
This isn't about criminalizing politics. This isn't business as usual, boys-will-be-boys bullshit. These are crimes being committed, and the right-wings are trying to politicize them.
Money laundering, fraud, espionage, treason are not political crimes. They are not obscure, exploitable statues that could be used to press a political opponent against the wall with. These are crimes that fundamentally damage this country.
Why are they politicizing criminals? Why do they jump at the defense of individuals upon whom truckloads of damning evidence and testimony has been lain? How can they say this is political at all? This is about crime, corruption, and putting a stop to it in our country.
They should stop politicizing the crime. Because we're definitely not criminalizing "politics as usual."

1. I agree! It's such a cop out to say that it's a political attack. Is |
|
there a basis for the charge? Is the charge being levied by an independent prosecutor? Nuff said!

Yeah it is the criminalization of politics. There politicians are criminals and we're ensuring they get prosecuted. Do you want your reps making decisions for k-street and big business or do you want them making decisions for you?

5. The problem with accepting their language is... |
|
It gives the impression that politics is just "business as usual." It only adds to the apathy that we face in American politics. There's a feeling that politicians are scum, bu tthere's nothing we can do. Criminalizing it won't stop it. That's completely wrong, but it's the feeling today. That they're "good old boys being boys" and that even if it's bad, there's nothing that can be done.
We must HAMMER on the fact that these are crimes, this is massive, evil corruption and we must stop it.

7. Godammit. It used be "Tell the republicans to quit lying about the |
|
democrats, and I'll (Truman) quit telling the truth about the republicans." Now it is,"Stop committing felonies, we we will stop prosecuting you."
