Caracas: Pat Robertson needs head examined

LONDON, October 11 (IranMania) - Venezuela said US preacher Pat Robertson should have his head examined for accusing President Hugo Chavez of plotting terror attacks against the United States and of financing Osama bin Laden and trying to obtain nuclear material from Iran, according to AFP.

Venezuelan Vice President Jose Vicente Rangel said Roberston should be examined "by a team of psychiatrists, psycologists and shamans, because he is so irrational."

But the conservative televangelist issued a new denunciation of Chavez Sunday: "This man is setting up a Marxist-type dictatorship in Venezuela, he's trying to spread Marxism throughout South America, he's negotiating with the Iranians to get nuclear material and he also sent 1.2 million dollars in cash to Osama bin Laden right after 9/11," Robertson told CNN.

On Sunday, Rangel called the silence from the White House "strange" following Robertson's accusations and said that behind them lies "an underhanded attack" by the US government on Chavez.

"In the case of the 'reverend-isimo,'" Rangel said, referring to Robertson, "the problem is not him, the problem is what is behind him because he is the spiritual advisor to the guest of the White House," he said.

13. What shocked and bothered me was on BBC last night. . .

During the full broadcast the coverage was fine, BUT at the "final summary of the news," they simply said something like". . . accusations by AMERICAN pat robertson." Of all the words they used to describe him in the full piece, like eccentric, evangelist, neo-con, spiritual advisor to pres; all of which could have replaced the word american to more accurately summarize the story. . . .It is almost like they wanted to give him a little credence on their way off the air, like its a REAL story. I mean they summarized as though what he is saying is the REAL story, not that this idiot is speaking again is the REAL story. How scary is that?
