They're proud of what they've accomplished, and even though the Republican Noise MAchine is an evil, evil thing, it's still impressive how much work, time, money, and (most of all) discipline went into creating it. Years of acquiesence, years of keeping silent about how the GOP didn't hate black people enough, didn't hate public education enough, didn't hate the poor enough, etc. on the right went into making the right the juggernaut it is today.

Now, a year or less into the creation of the left-wing media experiment, and the base audience for such a thing is whining like bunch of cookie-deprived brats.

If left media fails, it will be because we killed it.

One of the things I like about being a leftist is that we think for ourselves (most of the time, anyway) and can be self-critical when needed. I abhor the idea of emulating the Right by shutting up and not being critical at all, as if that will bring us better results.

If something stinks, I will say so. I don't think a false front of unity is really unity. It's self-delusion.

People have criticized Al Franken for playing nothing but reruns when he went on vacation. He has thus changed his policy. That's a good thing.

Randi Rhodes tends to talk over her guests. That's another good criticism. Hopefully one day she start showing more self control, and do away with that annoying habit.

Katherine Lampher's voice got on my nerves. So did her "go along to get along" attitude toward Bush toadies. And guess what? I never, EVER posted these feelings. Why? It wasn't worth it. I'm looking at the big picture. I'm so grateful to have these people to listen to. Especially when prior to Air America's debut I had NOTHING. ZIP. NADA.

IEAmerica Radio, Mike Malloy's old station, was blocked out at my job. I was reduced to listening to old reruns of Democracy Now (when they weren't blocked out. For some reason I could never get the current show). I'd go thru the radio guide searching for stations that wasn't blocked here, and guess what? They were ALL right wing.

BTW -- Drudge IS unreliable and tabloidical.

I don't feel that way about Rawstory, however.

appreciates any support. We've busted our asses for a good 4 years now and made a big difference in a lot of ways, and for virtually No funding - just what we could blow from our mortgage..

and now the vultures are descending, we may have to get JOBS and stop any political actions.

I just can't keep making films/Flash attack ads/boycotting Limbaugh for millions/web fees for all the downloads on my own.

And we don't just take late breaking news, ad our spin to it and then post it with our Name all over it, which I have seen here and think that it's not a good way to go.. that's not very hard to do, but you sacrifice substance for style IMHO..

Randi we HELPED to get on AAR, she loves us - we've made a lot of good inroads in the media and could do a lot more with funding, but we don't want to sell out and have ads all over the DAMN site.. I won't GO to a liberal site full of ADS, to me that's selling out, and tho we have one popunder, that's about as far as we'll go..

I had way way too many things to say, all the time, it is awesome to hear others saying the same things, live on the air!!! And it is good to know that bloggers and others who share my way of thinking and are doing something about it, can get on and talk about things.

I noticed recently that many of the stories which normally would not make the MSM, broke on AA, then later made their way to the TV.
