A reminder to folks to change your passwords more frequently...

I just had a nasty incident in which somebody figured out my password for my desktop system here and was acting as me. I have changed all my passwords and am trying to figure out just who did this.

Of course I tell people to pick good passwords, but this time I did not pick a good one for the Apple Remote Access server for my desktop, and paid for it.

So, to avoid being an idiot like myself, change your passwords frequently, and don't pick a password somebody might guess.

Depends on what they want. In this case, the attacker wanted to act as me. I your case, an attacker might want to send out spam.

5. Good advise, but I have soooo many passwords.

I have dozens of passwords. It is just too much to change all of them often.

Just kiddin'! That is good advice and it's something that people just don't think about.
