So now we're sexist
It's also possible that you and your husband and his "friends" are evil, stupid, greedy and the worst thing to happen to the USA since I've been alive. Wait I think that's more than possible. I hope all young women choose role models that love their countrymen more than their corporations.

"That's possible, I think that's possible," Mrs. Bush said when asked on NBC's "Today Show" whether criticism that Miers lacked intellectual heft were sexist in nature. She said Miers' accomplishments as a lawyer made her a role model to young women.

16. Most of them, yes........
some are just pissed off because they didn't get the fight they so badly wanted with the Democrats. They just love stomping Democrat butt into the ground, and lately the Democrats have been more than willing to oblige. They wanted to do it again but bush didn't give them the chance by nominating a theo-fascist in Republican's clothing. He chose crony over phony and they're pissed.

Republicans calling Democrats sexist (if indeed that's where laura's barb was aimed) holds as much water as a sieve. Didn't bush remark to that Irish reporter something about "talking about the speck in someone's eye when there's a log in yours", or some horseshit like that? :eyes: Pot, meet kettle. The slugs are as sexist a group that inhabits the planet.

23. Doh! I knew that was going to get me in hot water.
No offense to anyone not partaking into the world of marriage...I meant it more as a swipe at the right that likes nothing better than having heir women barefoot and preggers....
If it was a woman from the left, the conservatives would be making the "lesbian" comments by now....

27. I thought that might be it.
Sorry, I just couldn't let it get by.

I work with freepers and they figure she's either an "old maid" or a lesbian or both so I'm a little defensive.

:hi:

25. Totally agree.
She seems to be a throwback to the Mamie Eisenhawer type of First Lady. Just stand around and smile.
By the way, how's Laura's campaign to end gang violence going? Afterall, her husband "could think of no one more qualified."

I think it clearly means you're self loathing that brings out your own self hatred by attacking others.

Right wing talking points are so easy to write.

11. Critisism from the right?
Is it critisism from the right that is sexist or is the from the left?

Or could it be her complete lack of qualifications that have both sides wondering what Jr./Rove are thinking?

Who asked this idiotic leading question anyway?

Because that's really all it is, and that's one "ist" I'd be ok with.

20. This is such a meaningless statement.
Of course, a million idiots barely paying attention will think she said it was sexism, not that it was "possible." It's also possible Miers is an alien, but it's not fucking likely. I guess irresponsible journalism is OK if the boss tells you to do it.

We can make baseless, meaningless claims, too. How's this:
I'm sure there is no truth to the rumor that Trent Lott enjoys wearing a vibrating butt plug during Congressional hearings. It's possible, but I'm sure it's nothing more than a rumor.

http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?court=US&vol=83&invol=130

... and while they're at it, ask Ms Miers if she's familiar with the same Myra Bradwell. My guess is she's never heard of her.
