When Plame was leaked, wasn't Rove just a Civilian advisor with |
|
no official title or clearences? It seems like no one ever mentions this, and the RW talking heads always say that Rove is a "trusted advisor" and what not. I'd like to know how far apart the leak occured and Rove getting his offical title were.

I had forgotten about that until now. I wonder if this means he's in bigger trouble.

2. I hope he is. If we forget it, their lies will become true and |
|
public perception of the whole deal will be spun a lot more easily. I think it is a pretty important fact.

And if Rove had no security clearances, did someone give him classified information, in violation of the law?

|
... to HIM.
Libby? Cheney?
... Bush? (nah, too out of the loop)

8. When you work in offices like that you have a background clearance... |
|
done and you also sign confidentiality oaths, etc.
Always in an office like that.

11. I would think that his would be VERY high... |
|
He has unlimited access to the Prez, so it would have to be damned high. My mother was a secretary for Sec. Def and her clearance was reviewed weekly. That was a long time ago, I don't know how they 'maintain' these things now.
But, because of the information he could stumble on, his clearance would have to be very, very high.
You're smart to understand that all clearances don't entitle you to see everything.

he wasn't allowed to know. What's important is what was done with that information and if he wasn't allowed to know, who gave it to him.

13. hmmm .. wasn't he the first political advisor to ever have an office |
|
in the WH? Just what level of clearance do you assign to a "political" advisor, when that "position" had never existed before? That's like hooking up a main line to everything private about our country to ONE political party's arm ...
