Did quake claim life of bin Laden?
Temblor may have forced him from hideout but also diverted the troops on his trail

By KATHERINE SHRADER
Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Did Osama bin Laden's secret lair crumble in the earthquake that devastated northwest Pakistan?

So far, U.S. government officials and terrorism experts caution against too much speculation about whether the al-Qaida chief may have been killed, injured or forced from hiding.

"There's a lot of people who know that that's an obvious question" was the most Pentagon spokesman Lawrence Di Rita would say Tuesday about U.S. thinking on bin Laden's fate.

Federal officials who track terrorism said there's no evidence yet to suggest that bin Laden or his top deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, was injured or killed in the quake.

Yet the quake has caused many in and out of government to ask, "What if?"

4. I certainly hope he has been struck down by a natural disaster.
He's in more danger of getting struck by lightning than he is of getting caught by our stupid president.

6. How pathetic of AP
Why don't they just publish Miss Cleo's take on bin Laden's whereabouts and health (after "dee cards don't lie!")

After 2 wars, thousands dead, billions spent and all the cowboy BS ("smoke em out, get em runnin, dead or alive, the noose is tightening") they are just speculating wildly based on where bin Laden MAY have been some 4 years ago.

7. No, no, the quake hit Pakistan,
Not Boca Ratan Florida where OBL is at, comfortably ensconced at Bebe Robozo's old digs. Geez, can't these folks get anything right:evilgrin:
