5. Love it!
As for the disclosure, I don't think I love that. Sounds like someone is being "creative" and has manufactured an out for KKKKKK. All that time in jail and she is just now remembering? I smell a 4-day-old fish.

about other sources, that is damn good news.

19. Right...so much for the "concessions" she was crowing about on Friday

Of course, if the whole concessions bit is now null and void (as any mention of another source, in the context of the Friday deal, would certainly indicate), that means that Judy Judy Judy misstepped badly in her Friday testimony, and Fitzgerald is now in the process of extracting "things-she'd-rather-not-say" from her, meaning that the coonskin is well and truly nailed to the fucking wall, metaphorically speaking.

and aside from the heading at top, nothing in the article relates to her disclosing a second source. Curious.

12. what the fuck could THAT mean?
Is she trying to help Scooter out there? Who could the 2nd source be?

The big question is who told Novak first about VALERIE PLAME... Rove says he only provided confirmation to Novak, but SOMEONE leaked her name FIRST. Did Novak give this informatin to the Grand Jury?

It seems to me that the value of his testimony has been underplayed in the media. He is a central figure in this.

17. Wouldn't it be funny if it were Chalibi
She was all buddy-buddy with him and, as I recall, he took special care of her while she was an embed. Why is that important? Because Chalibi (and nephew Curveball) were in cohoots with WHIG to propagate reasons to go to war. At least, that's how I see it.

20. Maybe it's Rumsfeld
He was the one who got her embedded with the military in Iraq! And he signed the PNAC, AIRC.

I did read somewhere that she may have been given the information from Chalabi, and if that was the case, the charge would be treason. But if so, who told Chalabi? Perle, maybe, or Douglas Feith, or maybe, Larry Johnson.

But no matter who told her, there is still the question of who the original leaker was, because the list of those who had access to that information is supposedly a very short one.

Bush, Cheney ~ and who else has that access? Head of the CIA, Tenet? Condi, Colin Powell? I have never seen a list of those who had direct access to the information.

32. No, not Larry Johnson,
Sorry, I meant Larry Franklin, the Pentagon spy, who was close to Douglas Feith, and who entered a guilty plea, before Judith Miller was released from jail.

He will testify against the other two indicted spies, and who knows what we will learn when that trial starts in January.

35. Juddith was passionate with, er, about her sources, doncha know?
A few things I've collected about her...

8.1.5: Pals with:
http://newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/news/media/features/9226/index.html -:
Miller had ready access to many Mideast potentates. As she shuttled
between meetings with Hussein, Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, and
Palestinian Liberation Organization chief Yasser Arafat in 1984, her
colleagues joked about the Miller Plan for peace.
and
From her first day at the Times, Miller’s life and work have been hard
to separate, which for a reporter is both a strength and a
weakness. She’s a passionate person she gets caught up in her
sources passionately, one of her Times colleagues told me.
Friends
from her earliest days in Washington noted that she didn’t surround
herself with people her own age. She sought out the best and brightest
at the city’s highest levels, dating Larry Sterne, the Washington
Post’s foreign editor, and hanging out with the defense gurus Richard
Perle and Walter Slocum. These people were powerful. But they were
also interesting, and Judy liked talking to them. She is curious and
enthusiastic, says one friend from this period.

8.1.6: Jeffery Goldberg
Remember, everyone was obsessed with the White House sex story, says
New Yorker writer Jeffrey Goldberg, who was invited by the paper to
join Miller in an investigation unit to examine Al Qaeda. Goldberg
found her an impossibly difficult colleague. But he also realized her
value. She happened to be prescient about the rise of the global
jihad.
And it was her unpleasant hyper-aggressiveness that enabled her
to help force a very important story the possibility of a marriage
between WMD proliferators and global jihadists closer to the top of
the agenda.

As to your last question, the memo on AF1 came from State. However I think it likely that the OSP had this info too. Which means it's likely AIPAC had it. A Feith-based initiative, but, it could have been Wurmser also.

wrote the memo that was passed around on AF ONE?

Just that she confirmed that she had two sources. Is it possible that she still withheld the name of her second source as per her deal with Fitzgerald?

30. The memo was passed around like an intercepted love note
in the junior high cafeteria.. I can just see Ari & Karl passing it around on AF 1 on the way to Africa.. I think Jeff Gannon was along for the ride too.. (Those were the halcyon days of his White House tenure)..

The memo was shown to many, in hope that SOME would run with it, and be secretive about the source..

Novak/Cooper/Miller/Tweety, and a few others were sent info/fed it over the phone, ion hopes that they would run with it too..

The *² administration loves carpet bombing.. They sent this information on Plame far and wide...They were hoping that everyone would take the bait, and the mass reporting on it would protect them as the source../ It would be just another "well, everyone knows that..." story, and they could back away from it..

The problem they had is that only the boldest actually did something with the information.. The smart/less well connected reporters, shied away from it, and the ones who DID use it, stuck out like the proverbial sore thumb

33. Don't celebrate too soon:

According to Jeralyn Merritt at www.talkleft.com:

I have re-read this CNN article three times and cannot find a statement in it to back up the headline, "New York Times reporter disclosed conversation with second source." Maybe it's a typo that meant to read, "New York Times reporter disclosed second conversation with source."

Even if true as stated, that doesn't put Miller in any jeopardy. Her agreement with Fitzgerald was limited to conversations with Scooter Libby about Valerie Plame. Among her stated reasons for insisting on the agreement was to ensure she wouldn't be asked about other sources.

If she mentioned another source at the grand jury today, she might have done what Walter Pincus did: acknowledge, but not identify, the source. Fitzgerald made that agreement with Pincus, and there's no reason not to make it with Miller.

I don't get those who are opining Miller is in trouble. I think she is Fitz's new hero. The real question is, as I stated here, did she clear Libby or bury him.

34. So, she must have done something on Friday
that allowed Fitzgerald to expand his questioning beyond Scooter Libby!

Remember that she had insisted, and Fitzgerald agreed, to limit her testimony ~

Did he call her back, or did she volunteer, after she found the notes? I don't remember hearing that explained.

Thanks for the link ~ :-)
