Anyone else PISSED at *'s OBVIOUS attempts to repeal Posse Comitatus??
* has been pressuring Congress MASSIVELY to repeal the protective Posse Comitatus Act, which prevents our military from arresting U.S. Citizens and prevents the military from confiscating legally purchased firearms. First * used Katrina as the excuse, now it's this "bird flu" thing, which has been severely overhyped.

So if * has his way, we could very well see our military arresting our own citizens without their miranda rights...weapons being confiscated from homes at-will by our government...street-corner military troops wearing AK-47's and military humvees speeding around through the center of our cities...the stuff we've all seen in movies but NEVER thought would really happen in real life. I'm talkin' scary stuff here.

I suggest...no, I URGE you...to pick up your phone and call your Senators and Congresspeople and urge them not to repeal Posse Comitatus. Tell them you are enjoying the few freedoms we have left, and we don't want this country to turn into a police state. 1-877-762-8762 is the number to call - and please do, today.

It seems * is trying to put fear and panic into the American people in order to force us into submitting to this and relinquishing our rights and freedoms. He WANTS to abolish Posse Comitatus. But WHY? Why is he doing this? He is suppposed to be the "Freedom" President, and yet at the same time, he's trying to TAKE OUR RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS AWAY!! It's about time we all STOOD UP and SHOUTED THIS from the ROOFTOPS!

5. Yes, they are more concerned with
when the latest episode of "Survivor" is on. Little do they know that they are about to live Survivor in ways they never imagined! No exotic locations, no voting those you don't like off the island, no million dollar prize, no television network to offer a safety net if something goes terribly awry. It will be the ultimate reality show & the sheeple will wonder when & how the hell it happened.

4. now combine this with the threat
to Veto the anti-torture legislation, combined with the slippery loopholes of multinational contractors who exist outside of the law, and the existence of places like Gitmo.

Call me crazy, but it would not be hard to round up any dissenters at that point. At all. What amazes me is this: I have known a lot of "crazy" rightwingers who are heavily armed because they do not trust the government. Why are they not expressing their outrage? I just don't get it.

10. I agree.
I wonder that too. Why aren't we hearing from the conservatives on this one? I mean, it's THEIR weapons * will go after if he has his way.

I personally think * faked his own conservatism and so called Christianity in order to gain the trust of conservatives. Some still do worship the man believe it or not. So all these things are happening with the utmost deceit and underhandedness. Then one day the freepers will all wake up and cry out about their rights taken away, their weapons taken away, etc. etc., wondering to themselves, "How the hell did this happen?"

And we will proceed to tell them, "We WARNED you guys, time and time again. But you didn't listen. You continued on in your willing naivite. You buried your head in the sand and mocked us for bringing it up. You would have followed Bush off a cliff if he told you to jump, and now you find out he's not who you thought he was. And now we're all paying the price because you refused to take that big head of yours out of the sand for all these years."

Ah - cathartic, isn't it? I WAIT for that day when we say this to those frumpy freepers...be prepared...because it may be coming...

6. he wanted to for Katrina
He wants an "automatic trigger" to do it if there's an emergency (natural or terrorist)

And if you object? He wants to be able to label you an "illegal enemy combatant" so he can imprison you indefinitely without counsel and torture you if he feels like it...

You can throw out the old tin foil chapeau, because there is nothing this crowd won't do...

15. The problem is...
once * has his way, there will be no turning back. They will finally have all the power they want and nobody will be able to do a damn thing about it. It will be too late.

Want to organize a protest? Sorry, can't do it. You'd be arrested as an "enemy combatant." Want a laywer? Sorry, can't do it. You have no rights or freedoms anymore. This is America. The New America with a new American dictator, GW *, who, incidentally, DID say it would be alot easier if he was a dictator.

Man, we've REALLY gotta flood Congress with calls, urging everyone we can to NOT repeal Posse Comitatus.

8. This IS worrisome...
But I see a loy of people here at D.U. dismiss the topic as tin foil.

I don't have all the facts but I don't get why any administration, especially an administration known to lie and break laws when it suits their agenda, trying to assume more power than any commander-in-cheif has had in about 130 years isn't of much greater concern to a much larger number of people. (ie EVERYONE)

Anyone have any info or theories as to what I'm missing?

Is that standard issue for population-controlling, gun-taking, Bush-obeying troops?

16. Even more scary...
Read the article by Alex Jones at Prison Planet:
http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/october2005/121005slambush.htm

It's about Rep.Ron Paul's fears on what the administration is up to---police state--gun confiscation--because of the bird flu fearmongering! :scared:
