3. And here's the kicker...
...if prosecutors can't prove their case against Bush before the Senate, Bush gets to keep his job. Just like Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnston.

Of course, IMHO, I think the case against Bush is airtight...

5. It's nice to see
that four congressional leaders have requested Fitzgerald submit a detailed report to the House, as the terms of his appointment allow. Very interesting, indeed!

12. If they didn't, the administration would probably
classify it as "state secrets".

6. How many here actually think it's possible or likely?
I'm hoping that number is zero, because it ain't gonna happen without a MAJOR upheaval in the 2006 elections.

10. We need realism. DU lacks it sorely.
We have way too many people who are doom and gloom against our own party and we have way too many people that think actions which are literally impossible are inevitable. I'm here to bring people back to earth.

17. I'm sorry.... but have you seen how many posts by people who EXPECT it?
I did jump the gun a bit, and I apologize, but really, it's getting very tiresome to deal with these posts. And no, it's not possible. Even disregarding the simple math that tells me we don't have anywhere near the number of votes necessary to impeach, the articles of impeachment won't ever even be let out of committee. If you really think Sensenbrenner is going to take up articles of impeachment, I've got a Mars Rover to sell you.

23. Enough with the so-called 'reality'
I'm so sick ofthe pessimism. Reality is, we won't know until that tie comes, but we have to try. Stop stomping on hope, we need it.

9. I would honestly prefer that he risign/
Impeachment convictions are awfully tricky things. I just do no knowif idiocy and arrogance and lying to the american people is a crime.

20. Not if he was not under oath....
and unfortunately that is an important piece. Unless you are under oath it is not perjury.

22. Well, a lot of admin toadies went up to the hill to tell lies under oath..
related to the Iraq war. If they told lies under his guidance, there's certainly something criminal in that.

21. This is great, the media will be there
maybe not the US media, but the world will be there. Can they add the inhumane treatment of the people of New Orleans, and the rest of the south.
