1. Ding!!!
You win the prize.

Those screeching that Fitz will not indict anybody are ignoring all the facts and circumstances around this affair. They are impatient with the time it is taking and interpret the delay to conclude that there's trouble with the case. The only trouble with the case is that we have very thorough prosecutor, very complex set of facts, very grave crimes and misdemeanors, and very high level criminals. One does not put together such a case on a holiday weekend in between golf outings. It takes time. One serious mistake and the whole lot escapes. (Remember Iran-Contra?)

Now we know the true consequences of "going easy" on Iran Contra

Had the Dems (who DID control both houses of congress) pressed harder, and not contented themselves with the idea that GHWB (the wimp) would be easygoing, and inconsequential...well things would be very different now.,

Had Reagan/Bush gotten their just desserts for Iran Contra, and all the dirt been exposed, they would have left office, fully disgraced..GHWB probably would not have even gotten elected..Carter would be held in higher esteem...and There's no way in HELL that *² would have gotten appointed to the white house

The appointments to the SCOTUS that were made by GHWB would have been made by a democrat..Kennedy..Souter..Thomas would not be on the bench, and we would not be facing a right wing court for the foreseeable future.

The democratic party has always hated "piling on", and has been ready to "forgive and forget".

Look at all the key players in this administration.. Almost all of them have their roots in the Iran Contra Days, Grenada, Panama, and many other republican schemes.

We do ourselves and the country a great disservice when we let the "bad guys" off with a slap on the wrist.

republicans have no shame.. they wear their crimes like badges of honor..and like the energizer bunnies, they just keep on coming back..

This is why we cannot let Rove off the hook, and strong language and actions are necessary..

The only thing that republicans DO understand is PUBLIC HUMILIATION, and jail terms.

If you DO wrong, you need to be punished..not just turned out of office to go lick your wounds until next time

9. Too true, what you said.
All these people earned their spurs during the early days of the Nixon administration. Nixon was not accommodating and was too much of an outsider. Since then they have all been pulling strings behind the scenes until their opening act and their great coming out party: November 2000, when they stole the election and democracy died. One year later was 9/11 and they solidified their hold on the power structure in America.

No federal indictments in city housing probe

BY MICHAEL BARBARO
YDN Staff ReporterA two-year investigation into a New Haven community housing corporation that may have squandered more than $2 million in city-administered federal funds closed last week without indictments of any corporation officers or city officials, ending a painful chapter in Mayor John DeStefano Jr.'s administration.

U.S. Attorney Stephen Robinson announced Friday that evidence discovered during his investigation into Community Housing Corporation "did not warrant a federal criminal prosecution," according to a prepared statement.

By closing the investigation, Robinson exonerated everyone involved in the case, removing a politically devastating blight from City Hall and the embattled CHC but leaving open the thorny question of who is responsible for hundreds of thousands of dollars in missing city funds and shoddy housing work completed by CHC-contracted firms.

A scathing 1998 federal Department of Housing and Urban Development audit accused CHC, a non-profit, and its related companies of inflating sale prices, manipulating contractor work and charging excessive commissions. The company used city-administered HUD funds to build and renovate affordable housing throughout New Haven.

8. How About BCCI??? Silverado???
I don't remember seeing anyone from Poppy's regime doing a frogwalk. The investigations dragged on then faded away. Having Poppy Bush pardon some of the Iran-Contra principals didn't help, either. Once the '92 elections were a done deal, so were these two scandals.

Just John McCain

The peril with all these scandals brewing and coming to a head in a short period of time is people will be so overwhelmed "burn out" will happen real fast. Hopefully it's one that will backlash against the Repugnicans in the 2006 elections, but still allow these crooks to get away with a lot of the damage they've done.

Peace...
