Cool bumper sticker story just now...
Edited on Wed Oct-12-05 07:39 PM by calipendence
I was told earlier by other office mates, etc. to take care about driving around Escondido with my Impeach Bush, Sibel Edmonds, and Donna Frye bumper stickers as it was a pretty conservative area and might vandalize my car.

Well, I just took my car up to my Escondido dealer today for it's periodic service, and damn, I'll bet I probably got better service than I normally would have had I not had these stickers... When I went to pick up my car and was about to drive off, one of the mechanics came up and gave me his business card and said "I'm a Bush Hater too!"... I smiled a lot and thanked him and drove off. Made my day!

The times they are a changin' folks!

1. I felt like I was in Repuke heaven today...
Plenty of */Cheney and W stickers and Support Our Troops ribbons today. Did see a Kerry/Edwards sticker, though.

3. The only bush/cheney sticker I saw today was at the post office ...
... on a car that wasn't parked correctly. I mean, hell, it was crooked (no surprise) and partially in the next space.

Fuckers.

4. Wow.
I had a "Bush/Cheats" sticker on my car when someone tore off the "Cheats" part. I'm in San Diego too so I guess things have changed more than I thought.

w/ tape and turn them down if i don't want them seen. ( like when i'm at work ) that way i can rotate the different stickers in my collection easily too.

6. I bet you felt so Good, calipendence!
Times they are a changin'!

I used to live in Escondido, Ca back in the '80's and was not into politics then or much of anything but having a good time. There were fantastic avoacado orchards, and orange groves and it was 30 minutes away from Swami's Beach in Encinitas!

... but I think this area perhaps might be ready to get in someone like Busby to replace Cunningham! Hope so! If we can get Donna Frye elected as mayor along with two liberal council people next month and Busby in for congress in 2006 to help impeach Bush, I'll be lovin' this area then! It will start to feel the way the Bay Area (Santa Cruz, etc.) felt earlier before I left it 4-5 years ago.

11. LOL! You will love my story.
My husband is a Used car manager. He appraises all the trades and when he see a trade with a bush/cheney sticker, it's automatically $$$ off! He is so incensed by those stickers, he can't help himself. OTOH, he has been known to give Kerry/Edwards stickers customers more for their trades. He is a good guy!

12. Another bumper sticker story (hope for the future):
I was walking back to my car at a shopping center in my neighborhood. As I got there, a kid of 14 or 15 and his mother were looking at my car (1983 Porsche 911). I'm used to comments about the car, but the 911 also has a "No W" ("W" in a red circle with a red slash through it) bumper sticker.

The kid looked at me and said "Cool car". I said "Thanks".

The kid then said "Cool bumper sticker". I looked at his mother and said "Smart kid".

13. There is an older Porsche in town here
that still has a Kerry/Edwards sticker on it. It looks like a mid 80's 944 model.

14. People always seemed surprised at a Porsche with a Dem sticker...
...I don't know why. Yes, they DO eat a little more gas than a lot of cars, but it's hardly an SUV.

Makes more confident of the future of our country if we have more sensible kids like that taking over later!

17. I live in cornfield country.
The other day, I saw a big ol truck with a marine sticker, an NRA sticker, AND a 'Don't blame me, I voted for Kerry' sticker!

The guy looked like a marine. Good sign IMO.
