for testing from some ducks in Romania. It's H5, but they need more testing to determine if it's N1.

What I do is go to google news and put in bird flu, then sort by date thats in the upper right hand corner.

Para este viernes deberán estar listos los resultados de análisis de laboratorio que determinarán si Turquía posee o no una cepa relativamente inocua del virus, o la mortal H5N1, mientras prosigue el sacrificio masivo de aves en varias zonas del país.

This Friday the results from the lab tests will determine if Turkey has or not an inocouus form of the virus, or the lethal HSN1, while they continue to massivley kill birds in various regions of the country

6. Odd is right. Another odd thing is it takes so long
to determine which strain of bird flu in Romania. Last year they said they found a quicker way to test so it didn't take a couple of weeks, which is crucial if a human has caught it.

8. Got a link, because I just googled it
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 02:56 AM by shraby
and they had determined the H5 but not if it was N1 or not. There is an H5N2 that birds get and doesn't transmit to humans.

Just took another look..an article from the Boston Globe 10 minutes ago says that the EU states there's no bird flu in Romania.

Reuters, India 13 minutes ago said there is in Romania,
Malaysia Star, Malaysia 8 minutes ago said there is in Romania.

Go figure.
