OOH. Sister Harriet was the Managing Partner. B F D. Here's why:
Managing Partners are generally, at least in large firms, Administrative Personnel. What they are NOT: Top-shelf attorneys. Sometimes they're well-connected rainmakers. But they're NEVER the best LAWYERS in the firm. NEVER.

1. They're usually the best money makers in the firm aren't they?
You know, the best connections, with the wealthiest clients, etc.

3. no. managing partners tend to be the ones that deal with the details
of keeping the practice running. the managing partner(s) writes the checks to pay the bills. someone else is the top dog with the high dollar clients.

so the other partners feel the MP is earing their partnership money by doing SOMETHING for the firm...and I've consulted for the biggest and the best, including Locke Liddell...

12. I thought I heard all the lawyer jokes
this one is not ringing a bell - so what's the punch line? But managing partners are most definitely "admin".

2. I agree whole-heartedly. I was a bookkeeper for two prestigious law firms
in NYC and not once, was the managing partner the best of all of the attorneys in either firm. They were excellent at detail, finances and management.

was very good at correcting punctuation.
