If It's OK To Bash * @ 39%, Then It Was OK To Bash Him @ 80%
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 01:19 PM by stopbush
Back in 2001-04, we were all told that bashing * "aided and abetted" the terrorists. Well, if we're to believe the administration and the MSM, we're STILL under the same threat from terrorists today that we were a few years ago. If the whole logic behind not holding * accountable was "it helps the terrorists," what has changed? Why, nothing but the poll numbers which now show that the country distrusts and dislikes bush.

Now here we are, a few years later and most of the country, the media and a good number of Rs are suddenly just fine engaging in the same dissent and bush-bashing that "the friends of terrorists" engaged in since Day One.

I thought I'd point that out to the Rs who are so busy attacking * on his nomination of Miers. Don't they realize that showing public dissent from * "helps the terrorists?" Are they ready to admit that the dissent that "some people" have been expressing since Dec, 2000, has NOT helped the terrorists one iota? Are they ready to admit that WE WERE RIGHT and they were wrong about this illegally installed president and his illegally installed regime?

Fuckin' jerks.

2. Well you can't really expect consistancy
But they would say "Bashing Bush over internal politics is not the same as bashing him on foreign policy. bashing him on foreign policy makes him look weak, and us look weak; bashing him on domestic policy is none of those terrorists business."

Bush Bashing is a great rhetocial weapon they've used consistantly, by the way, along with Bush Hatred.

3. Telling bush he's wrong is the right thing to do.
Honestly, I can't think of anything he's done right.

5. I can think of one or two things in fairness
But there are so many things he's done wrong; well, it's hard not to take the appropriate shots at him.

6. But when domestic policy decisions involve the SCOTUS,
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 01:43 PM by stopbush
you're talking about the highest court in the "greatest democracy on Earth." The counter argument would be that by bashing *'s SCOTUS choice the Rs are saying to the terrorists, "* talks a good game on freedom and democracy but his choice of Miers proves that it's all talk. How can you trust him to do the right thing for justice in the Middle East if he can't do the right thing for his own country?"

8. That is a good comback
Although it is my opinion taht the war on Terror is a large part of the reason he wants Miers on the court. Stuff like PlameGate, Guantenamo, and Patriot Act 2 may very well come up before the court, and we kind of know how miers will vote.
