Even FauxNews is reporting that today's "Chat with the Troops"
was completely staged.

Faux reporting the truth!? The handwriting must be on the wall.

2. This is akin to Bush flying over the Katrina damage and
looking out the window. He is just oh so above it all and out of touch.

3. Excerpt:
"The exchange was carefully choreographed.

Before it began, a Pentagon official coached the troops, telling them the president planned to ask questions on three topics: The overall security in Iraq, how they were preparing for the vote on Saturday and how much progress had been made in the training of Iraqi troops."

6. Sorry, KK
I did not see your post before I did mine and said basically the same thing. However, we reenforce each other.

10. LOL
:toast:

Yes, we know what a phony Bush is and how he selects his audience and has scripted speeches, questions and answers. Wonder what he will do when his brain is locked up. Haha

4. Scripted
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 02:24 PM by peaches2003
Just heard Tom Oliphant on Al Franken Show. Tom had a transcript of what had been said in the warm-up just preceding Bush coming on and the press person told them if Bush goes 'off script' then the Captain was to answer the question. They knew all the questions and answers beforehand. In other words- another scripted photo op. Why do they bother anymore. I think all the Kool Aid drinkers don't even believe him anymore.

7. Hmmm ...
It's possible that this may be an attempt to appear credible as an "independent" news source. Much like when Rush Limbaugh gives a one-in-a-trillion mild and highly qualified criticism of Bush and then repeats over and over again about how he's so fair and independent.

9. And the first question to Scotty this afternoon at the WH was:
Q Scott, why did the administration feel it was necessary to coach the soldiers that the President talked to this morning in Iraq?

MR. McCLELLAN: I'm sorry, I don't know what you're suggesting.

Q Well, they discussed the questions ahead of time. They were told exactly what the President would ask, and they were coached, in terms of who would answer what question, and how they would pass the microphone.

MR. McCLELLAN: I'm sorry, are you suggesting that what our troops were saying was not sincere, or what they said was not their own thoughts?

Q Nothing at all. I'm just asking why it was necessary to coach them.
