NIMBY!!! (not in my back yard).... another repug hypocritical tale

So just now on CNBC they were discussing possible solutions to our "energy crisis"... They had Connie Mack (R-FL) on to defend not drilling inside the 125mi limit off the west FL coast.

The opposition was actually talking about opening up the zone from 3-9 miles out for "Natural Gas" production only, not oil, and made the point that natural gas has increased over 700% in the past years and will be the main factor that drives business under and consumer prices for goods higher in the future. He also pointed out that there has never been a "beach" disaster as a result of a natural gas drilling rig...

All that aside, guess what the repug response was... "NIMBY". I swear he gave the EXACT arguments (quality of life, environment, safety, etc) that we gave relative to Anwar drilling for "oil" and this was a debate about drilling for natural gas, a much more environmentally friendly process (relatively speaking of course).

Fucking hyprocrites...

1. But... but... but...
I thought it was all the LIEberals and their suffocating environmental laws that kept us from building more rigs and refineries! Rush told me so! :sarcasm:

after all, Ted Kennedy has been one of the biggest critics of the plans to build the Cape Wind Farm off the shore of Cape Cod, and Ted's about as decent a senator as they get.

edited for spelling
