OK, when all this dust settles could we all agree on two things?
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 04:42 PM by KansDem
If indictments are forthcoming (and I believe they are), could we all please agree on two actions:

1) That this time if found guilty, they go to prison. No "ifs, and, or buts" about it. No Christmas Eve pardons (I know we have very little control over this, but we could scream like hell if George Jr. tries to pull this stunt). I suspect many of the malefactors in the present administration were around during 1980-1992 (I'd do the research but am tired and getting over an illness right now). I can't help but feel if these thugs and cutthroats were sent to prison the first time, we wouldn't be experiencing a lot of the present tragedy.

2) Just say "NO" to the Bush Family. They were and continue to be a cancer on the health of this great nation. I don't see any value in their continued presence in national/international politics. I would go so far as to suggest they be exiled to an island, like in the spirit of Napoleon and St. Helena. I might suggest we are magnanimous and exile them to Catalina, off the coast of California (Sorry, California DUers, I know I'm being generous, but if you can suggest another island more appropriate...). Send Poppy, Barb, the Bush Bros and their wives and offspring. But they all must go and remain there for the rest of their natural days. If FOX, CNN, and the rest want to do interviews, fine--let them (they can ask them about the surf, the fishing, and what it's like to be held accountable for their actions for the first time in their lives), but they don't leave the island.

We can't afford to do this a third time!

What say?! Who's with me on this?!?!?

2. How about the Farallons?
They're isolated, cold, windy, foggy and surrounded by great white sharks - perfection!!

17. But could they still play golf?
"Watch my drive"

Or they could engage in aquatic sports...

"Watch my dive..."

YEOW! Forgot about the great white shark!

7. OK, I willing to give up a national point of interest...
But we'd have to paint it, though. And plant a few flowers and trees. Make it nice and homey!

10. Too easy to swim away from Alcatraz. A nine year old boy did it last week.
How about Angola prison in LA? That place is really awful.

3. Re point two: Jeb looms in the wings
Whether or not he will accept being a creation of Rove, Cheney and the others who picked and groomed W is yet to be seen, but given the moral bankruptcy of the Bushes, it's possible.

16. You know what? I have the feeling Jebbie is worse
than the Shrub, if only because I believe he's more intelligent (not that he'd have to work hard to do that). There's a really nasty glint in his little piggie eyes. That and his big gummy smile with his little bitty teeth make me really uncomfortable. Dubya looks stupid. Jeb looks mean.

15. True, but wouldn't it be a bit too confining?
I mean, you do know what happens when rats are enclosed in too confining a space, don't you?

6. Actually, our magnanimity ought to extend only to providing
them with an island with lots and lots of brush to clear.

12. Yes, lots and lots of brush. And chainsaws...
They, of course, would have to pay for the gas to run them. }(

18. Not Catalina; Elba didn't work
They must be sent far, far away. Pitcairn's Island sounds about right. Maybe New Georgia or some backwater hell hole in the Falklands.

I'm with you.
