I guarantee: Jon Stewart will skewer Bush for the 'teleconference' |
|
Oh, God what a target-rich environment for the writers. So many dumb moments; what a stupid concept to begin with.
Daily Show an absolute must for tonight!

Quill Awards on Monday night, I think, and Yom Kippur was last night and today, so I guess they just decided to scrap the week.
Well, there's always next week ........

3. The breakthrough is we're seeing it on network and cable news. |

Trouble with Daily Show, as great as it is, it's "preaching to the choir".
How many of the type of people that always have to turn the channel to Fox News do you think watch the Daily Show? (Sadly, I know many like this in TX)

The Daily Show is in repeats for the week. We'll have to hold on until Monday (though, for me, rerunning George Clooney's guest appearance from a few weeks back isn't a bad consolation prize...).

11. Jon will catch up next week |
|
He'll be back from reruns and have more material to work with than he knows what to do with. They may have to extend the shows to an hour a night for a week just so he can catch up with the nuttiness going on in Washington. From Dobsen to Miers, from Frist to DeLay, and now this scripted "unscripted" troop interview. Good grief. Go Jon!!!!!

12. Yes, and don't forget "The Colbert Report" at 11:30 Eastern |
|
starting on Monday.
With luck, this could be _almost_ as good as TDS.

13. With the daily idiocy coming from the misAdmin |
|
TDS staff can just sit back and let the show write itself. I haver seen Jon in more serious moments (on other shows) worry about the world baby Nathan and his daughter due in February are going to inherit.

18. There seems to be a correlation |
|
between monumentally stupid Bush moments and Daily Show vacations.
Every time Bush does something like this, somebody posts on here that "The Daily Show should be great tonight," only to be informed that the show is in reruns.

23. Old News By Next Monday |
|
The way things are moving, Jon will have a ton of stuff to cover.
One big reason the show was in reruns last week was to prepare for Stephen Colbert's new show on Monday.
Honestly, the corporate media's coverage of this specific story seemed to be a tribute to Stewart. CNN seemed to revel in dripping their reporting with irony...and even today, Leslie was hard-pressed to keep from snickering when he mentioned it. The photo-op wasn't just bad...this was beyond bad, and looks like someone with a bunch of booooosh payback made sure the video feed of the coaching went out. It was almost pre-packaged for these guys. At least Stewart & Letterman's people had to do a little digging for their stuff.
Speaking of Letterman, Dave has long been a critic of this regime and his monologues and Top 10 lists take regular shots at booosh. I think a lot of this goes back to the time Dave showed that kid at a booooosh rally fidgiting around and how Mrs. Rush Limbaugh and the White House attempted to say Dave's staff doctored the video.
Kharma's surely a bitch!
