Freepers! How can you support this idiot president? |
|
For Christ sake! Are you that fucking blind? I know you people read this so how about it. What makes you support this asshole? Is it just because he is a republican? If so, what does that say about you? This guy was and is a failure. We told you so when he was selected. He never accomplished a damn thing in his whole life. Never! Everything he had was given to him including the election. How can you sleep at night knowing what this puke is doing to your and our beloved country? Is it your quest for power? Delay, Limbaugh, Frist, Rove, Libby, Bennett, all of them tainted and in trouble. Scripted news conferences. Can`t speak off the cuff. Why does all this not spell DUMB ASS to you? My God people wake up before it is to late for us. I will put a oval office sex against this any day. Wait till the books are written after this dick head leaves office. he will be lucky to have a phone booth built for him as his library. But then again, he won`t have anything to put in it anyway because by his order everything is secret. What a dumb ass!

2. What kills me is that EVERYTHING we have said about dumbya.. |
|
from before he stole the election in 2000 is absolutely true. And we've said many many unpleasant things about him. Stil, they are all true. We have been more than vindicated. Now they, especially the MSM seems to have it in for us, because we were right and they were asshole idiots. We kept telling them what a dishonest, conniving loser bush is. They screeched back! Bush is a god. He is holy. He is brave and resolute. Har! Idiots! Every last single one of them.

I keep seeing references to it but have never understood it. Is it some lame rally cry or something?

I think these are the reasons why people vote for Bush even while knowing his past and present history.
1. Hard Core Republicans: People who vote Republican only because their family and friends are Republican
2. Religious Right: Bush being the evangelical that he is wants to bring Christianity into government with his policies. Funding religious groups; fighting to keep the pledge of allegiance in schools; anti-abortion among other things.
3. It's the Patriotic Thing to Do: I heard a lot of excuses that if we vote out Bush then the terrorists have won. I'd assume that the terrorists wouldn't care for any President Rep or Dem. There is also the idea that we should support the President in whatever he decides. That seems a little too much like a Kingship to me. I thought we kicked out the British and went with a Democracy so we had a say in the way we are governed.
4. Republicans are "My People": There is a climate in the party that gives off the impression of being old white and rich. It pushes legislation that often favors those demographics. Bush shuns the NAACP but shows up at NASCAR race. You could say that the NAACP is for black people and everyone is welcomed at NASCAR but there are white people in the NAACP. Bush holding a press conference against Affirmative Action. Bush hardly ever does press conferences but Affirmative Action was such a pressing issue that not only does he send a letter of support against it but holds a press conference.
5. Fear of Intellect: I remember people actually complaining that Gore and Kerry were too smart. I would never think that being "too smart" is a negative for a President. Clinton is an eloquent speaker. I've been told of his being able to give a 90 min speach with one card of notes. This ability and maybe along with the sex scandal gave him the "Slick Willy" moniker by many Republicans. I think they assume that if their President comes off as being a little dumb then he's not slick enough to put one by them so they can trust him.

17. There are many explanations for idiocy |
|
If you can see things from another's perspective, sometimes the idiocy makes sense. And even though it doesn't excuse stupidity that has terrible consequences, understanding why Freepers support evil and criminality can at least give us insight in how to get them on the right side. However ...
The worst thing about Freepers, hands down, is the cowardice. I spent a short bit of time writing in to their forum trying to have a conversation about the MSM. It is one thing which unites our side and theirs: we both think the MSM is screwed. After about 5 posts, they cut me off simply for being mildly challenging. They must exist in a tightly controlled bubble to hold on to their self dishonesty. Any human can change if they can confront their own fallacies and shortcomings. It is pure cowardice to refuse to even face conflict.

I go through this all the time. I'll meet a seemingly rational Republican who makes me think more pleasantly about them, that they are just ignorant, not evil. Then I think something like I wrote above. Then I go to Freeperland, to see what they're talking about. Last night, I saw the most juvenile, vile discussion of Helen Thomas and Terry Moran. Those people disgust me. I can report, however, that they seem to have much less popular support. They appear to have far fewer posts than we do. That at least gives me hope. I suspect, though, that the average Freeper has absolutely no hope of ever overcoming their basic misunderstandings of the world around them. My wife continually gives me grief for subjecting myself to their behavior. This morning, I think she's right.

20. Perhaps they are like rebellious |
|
children who support numb nuts to tick us off. Liberals have been painted as Over educated yuppies elitist who are full of arrogance and look down upon them. Now is it true? In some cases, yes. It's also true of their president, but under educated, elitist and arrogant. Many of those who dislike Bush are those who have been stomped upon by his over priced gucci cowboy boots. People like them, are people like us, barley making ends meet. Yet, Sometimes the lies humans tell themselves feel far better then the truth. Truth requires a level of soul searching and compassion for those you dislike.
Bush's base is lied to every day. Their beliefs reconfirmed every day. Limbaugh sheep, they are not idiots but refuse to think critically. I can't help thinking, it feels good for them to belong to pack of people, to feel included. So they gather in pixel form or person, they feel solidified. They are called patriots and freedom fighters (by themselves and *. For 4 years were the majority in this country (by a slim margin) and they still believe they are in the right. If they have not woken up by now, I believe it's hopeless they ever will.
They will continue to support him like we dislike him, fervently.

As long as they can see that other people are getting MORE screwed than them, then anything goes.
Although they wouldn't see it as others getting more screwed, they'd read it as "We are getting more goodness than they are!"
