Sixth victim dies in Tifton slayingsQUOTE
The day that a sixth murder victim was added to the tally of the Friday massacre in Tift County, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of two suspects in a Norman Park assault that had been linked to the slayings here.
Florindo Maurcio died Tuesday after he was taken off life support at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. He joined Armando Martinez, Mateo Gomez, Jose Luis Gomez, Felipe Esparza and Guadalupe Sanchez as the murdered victims of perhaps the bloodiest morning in Tift County history.
Five of the men were beaten to death with a baseball bat and hammer and died due to blunt force trauma, according to GBI Director Vernon Keenan. Another died due to gunshot wounds.
Two other injured men remain at hospitals in Macon and Albany, following four attacks in Tift and Colquitt counties.
