Does anyone on DU remember 6-12 months ago and
all the hopeless posts? What a difference a year full of natural and man-made tragedy in its many forms makes.

I've been on DU for a bit over a year, lurked for awhile, and have been through so many different emotions on here.

I'm not a religious woman, but there might be something to this kharma stuff.

Here's to DU and the members who have hung in there, educated and enlightened, and maybe even to the naysayers, because they are regaining some hope, and taught me how I don't want to be or think, but always gave me perspective.

I'm thinking the good guys, meaning all of us, are finally going to get a break and see some justice done.

Thank you all. :hi:

38. Umm, the fan doesn't generate the shit.
Sorry to be so technical, but the terminology is "shit hitting the fan". :)

Bush's fan is the size of the White House, and it's still about to knocked off its foundation from all the shit flying toward it. And al Qaeda dudes aren't riding these turds in. They mostly belong to Rove, and they have the unique ability to behave as boomerangs. It's about inertia and just a matter of time.

BUSH IS GOING DOWN.

What a difference of perspective we have! Framing the imagery you are!

I say the Bush Crime Family has been flinging their shit for 5 years at all those who disagree with them or get in their way of empire-building. . .so these people. . .and that includes we the people, are the BIGGEST fan about to fling it back. . .that's my view of poetic justice. . .righteous karma. . .AMEN!

unrighteous get ground beneath it.

Trust me on this.

21. It is something I have learned
to have great faith in over the years. I've never needed to consider vengeance in my life, don't believe in it and don't need to! All that's needed is patience.:toast:
It ties into the consequences from the energy of thought/intent. Don't you think so Redstone? If true, they should be very afraid. Sorry S.O.B.'s

24. Oh, yes. And the the Big K gets people where it really hurts.
For example: bushyboy and them live, breathe, and worship power. What's the thing they'd hate the most? Not a dread disease. Not impoverishment. What they'd hate the most is nobody giving a rat's ass about what they think, or even listening to them.

And that will be theri punishment: to live the latter part of their lives knowing that history will record them as a twisted irrevelance; an unfortunate temporary eruption of psychosis in American politics.

They'll die bitter and alone. Every one of them.

30. I never have taken pleasure in other's
suffering, but in their case I may not be able to stop myself. I hope it won't mess up my karma too much for feeling this way. But I think it is rather human to feel relief when evil falls. Is that pleasure over someone's pain, even when they are evil? Hard call maybe.

31. I don't believe that satisfaction in seeing justice done is gloating.
People as evil as the crowd we're talking about are beneath contempt.

But you can't judge by me, because I also believe that vengeance is a legitimate concept, so I'm probably not all that pure...I do many, many good deeds, and don't generally discuss them (just in case discussing them could be construed as as egotistic), but I just cannot smother my satisfaction whenever justice is meted out to those deserving of it.

Hey, nobody's perfect. I'm not even within shouting distance of perfect, but at least I realize and acknowledge it.

40. I appreciate the reassurance Redstone,
I feel ashamed at times to carry such feelings for anyone. You make a great point.
I have always tried to remain silent about good deeds also. I hear too many tooting their own horns and teaching children they must be rewarded and acknowledged for any good they do. Shameful that so many only act to receive accolades. Very disheartening at times.

I can't find perfection with a flashlight either, lol, but keep trying to just do the right things with all in my heart.

Rock on brother!

We've seen our hopes dashed, or at least delayed, before.

Sometimes the Wheel turns erratically, rather than at a steady speed.

But turn it does, you can count on that.

Patience, my friend, patience.

manage to keep optimistic were always there to prop up those of who faltered in our own belief that somehow this administration would be stripped and laid bare. DU is a wonderful place.

12. I'll feel more hopeful when (if) I see real progress.
The republicans are still passing legislation as they please.
We are still in Iraq with absolutely no plans to leave.
We have not fixed the vote.
Bush will appoint another crazy son of a bitch to the supreme court.
Halliburton continues to rape us.
And so on and so on. Nothing has changed as far as I can tell.

At this time, I am no more hopeful than I was 12 months ago.
A slap on the wrist for Rove will do nothing to ease the pain.

Boy, did it feel good to hear that word, coming from that source.

17. Actually, the White House got beaten on the latest
appropriation bill in the Senate, passed within the last week or so. It was amended to include an anti-torture provision. Frist had fought a long time to keep it from coming to a vote on behalf of Bush. But it finally came to a vote and passed with about 90 votes. Also, if Delay isn't re-intated to his leadership position by the time the new congress is sworn in, the common wisdom on the Hill is that he will not return to leadership. Things are changing.

oh sure, indictments seem to be coming very soon, there seems to be internal quarrels in the white house, *'s man browneye completely botched his effort at emergency response, etc. but every time something leans our way, he gets another appointment, another fascist law gets passed, or an environmental one repealed. all i see it the illusion that the end is near. i'll believe it when it happens. even if we oust the bastards, their legacy will outlive us all.
