Just saw the "Boondocks" teaser on Cartoon Network
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 01:45 AM by tridim
The kid steps up to a microphone at a Republican-ish snobby gathering and says, "Excuse me.. I have a brief announcement to make. Jesus was black, Ronald Reagan was the devil and the government is lying about 9/11. Thank you. Good night."

I got a really good vibe, I think the show is gonna be good!

7. Wow! I didn't know about this either. I can't wait. Found this online:
Cartoon Network has recently announced their plans to air the original animated television series The Boondocks as based on the hit comics strip by Aaron McGruder, on October 2nd, 2005, on the incredibly popular late-night programming block Adult Swim.

But that was from back in July.

Couldn't even find anything definite on www.adultswim.com. But I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it now.

"BOONDOCKS" BOUNCED BACK. The long-gestating, animated series "Boondocks" will gestate a little bit longer before it sees the light of Adult Swim. The Cartoon Network has moved the show's premiere date, originally scheduled for Sunday to Nov. 6. The adventures of Huey and Riley Freeman will air weekly as part of the Sunday night block. The slow process of producing an animated show is to blame for the switch in premiere dates, the network says. If the cable channel had stuck with the original premiere date, it would have had only a few completed episodes in hand and likely would have had to resort to repeats only a few weeks in. The later premiere date thus allows CN to build up more shows.

11. now that you mention it
I do remember hearing about the possibility of a boondocks animated series last year. I'd just forgotten all about it because I hadn't heard anything in so long. This could be very cool. :D

12. Looks like they went with a high quality animation house as well
Haven't looked into who is doing it but I was impressed with the teaser as far as quality is concerned.

Is there any redeeming quality to "American Dad"?

16. It's okay.
The best redeeming quality is that it is one big jab at Bush-loving fundies.

22. I may be one of the few here who loves it
I'll admit it had a real shaky start, but lately the show seems more comfortable in its own skin, so to speak. The show about masturbation had me rolling on the floor, especially the 50s educational film with the line that referenced the twin threats of civil rights and communism.

What family guy does to pop culture, American Dad does to right wing politics and values.

Plus, Patrick Stewart gets to say lines like "Butt Stuff."

21. I saw it too.. My 9-year-old was ROFL after the teaser;asked if he could
watch it. I gave him the old "we'll see", because it IS on 'Adult Swim'(I already let him watch 'Family Guy'; think it's BRILLIANT, but cringe at some of the jokes occasionally).
