Can anyone remember a US leader who repeatedly uses such... |
|
inflammatory, jingoistic rhetoric. For example, yesterday's staged event featured: > ruthless and coldblooded enemy > we will hunt down these killers and terrorists
not to mention the usual: > evildoers > freedom haters and other apocalyptic terminology
This really is the language of a scared child or a bullying parent, not a sophisticated world leader.
Why do people continue to buy into this bullshit?

Fear has worked for this monster in the past and he will continue to try using it to get what he wants.

2. The other annoying habit he has is his |
|
constant referral of himself as the "president" and that it is his "responsibility" to make decisions about x, y or z.....
Not sophisticated......
You raise a good point about the inflammatory language- I really think people are tired of it now.

6. Bigger question... can anyone remember a US leader who |
|
sent us to war in order to win two elections (midterms and presidential). Listen to candidate bush back in 1998-99 and his references to being a 'war time' president; read Andy Card's words about pushing the war and war vote before the 2002 midterms. This was a cynical political ploy by bush/rove.... fueled on by others who had other reasons for the war (oil cheney $$/neocon dreams of endless war as a means to maintain superpower status).

7. Because the frightened |

...always buy into a strong daddy figure. (In other words targeted message for a small group.)
Those of us (the majority on both sides of the fence) who realize that his language is creepy and vicious are not the targeted audience. The majority of Americans don't buy what he's talking about but they oppose him for his other views, rather than this.

8. They continue to buy into his bullshit because |
|
his supporters are just as ignorant as he is. They like the fact that an idiot, like them, is running the country. It makes them feel more adequate. "If he can be president, SO CAN I!" "See! You don't have to be educated and smart to be prezeeeeedent!"

the biggest justification by the for-Bushies is he's a man of God(which he's actually NOT) and because of that-they trust him.

makes me misty-eyed for Raygun - even Nixon. Those were, comparatively, the good old days.
