DON'T TELL GOD HOW BIG YOUR STORM WAS TELL YOUR STORM HOW BIG YOUR GOD IS
I don't talk to storms; other than that no comment necessary.

2. I've seen better church marquees. Though |
|
I liked it better when church marquees only listed the times for church.

That signature line pretty much sums up what our country is supposed to be.
And will be again, because of folks like you.
Well done.

15. Back in the early 60's in Norfolk |
|
there were signs in town - "Dogs and Sailors keep off the Grass." The Area Commander quarantined the Sailors (and their money) to their respective bases or ships until the signs were removed. It took just a few days for the local business community to crank up the pressure and the signs came down.

18. I heard about that. I was in March 66 to Nov 69 |
|
Charleston once and Norfolk twice, home port Jacksonville, Fla. Navy towns are not kind to the sailors who support them.
But I saw the church sign in Charleston. It was up for years.

6. Thanks for the first person information on what is going on down there. |

I appreciate it - such as your post about the bridge between Slidell and NOLA opening up.
Someone also posted that dolphins were back in Lake Ponchatrain.
Life is resilient.
Hope is better then despair.

Here in Pearl River County (we are 20 miles northeast of Slidell), the traffic has steadied somewhat; the FEMA and RED CROSS encampents are dwindling away; NOW HIRING signs all over the place. The tuesday morning after the hurricane when we first got back to our property I thought we were on another planet. There was just an incredible eery sense. But each day brings us back to normalcy. The neighbors have their Halloween decorations up; the FEMA trucks are picking up tons and tons of debris. I'll continue providing news when I can. The scheduled opening of the bridge is 3:00 this afternoon. Speed limit to be 50 MPH. The company that did the project was 17 days ahead of schedule and per contract will get $75,000 per day bonus for each day ahead of schedule. Sweet Deal. Hopefully all lanes will be open by January.

16. my storm laughed at god |
|
either that or god just flat-out abandoned us
i don't get the ppl who say, "praise the lord" after the lord smashed everything
such a god deserves no respect, much less worship
we are said to be children of god but no good father treats his children this way
i'm done w. god, he is has a lot of explaining to do
i don't see him holding back one tiny cloud or passing out one tiny bottle of water
as far as i can tell, he can't even be arsed to exist
bitter much, why yes i am
there was no call for this & if there is a god & he ever bothers to ask me abt it, i'll tell him to his face, i'll leave it to others to snivel in fear in front of their abusers, i'm done w. that

17. How can we get the storms and God to talk to each other? |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 11:49 AM by Opposite Reaction
Perhaps we can get God and the storms to the bargaining table and work out a compromise.
EDIT: Maybe we can get 900ft Jesus to join in the talks. We can order pizza.
