Get the REAL NEWS

Hey folks. I just upgraded the Real News site. I'm sure some of you haven't seen it before.

I use "RSS News Feeds" to import headlines from all the best alternative news outlets on to one web page. So rather than going to a dozen different websites, you get them all on one page. You can scan the headlines and click on the links to stories you want to read. Saves a lot of time.

Note, it takes a few seconds to load, as 12 different news servers are sending the info to the one web page for your view. Worth the few seconds to wait.

I've gotten a ton of good feedback from people on this since I launched it a few months ago. Some people are using it as their home page...

If you are fetching RSS feeds from a number of sites, you may eventually get blocked if you start having a lot of traffic. Many servers don't like getting hit for the same RSS feed many times/second. (slashdot has now limited it to once/hour)

Try running your page generation once every fifteen minutes and saving the result as a static HTML page. That will reduce everyones bandwidth and server load, and I think a 15 minute refresh is more than frequent enough for most of us! :)
