If Biddie-Harriet Withdraws, EVERYBODY Loses--Us, Wingnuts, Shrub
As for Ol'Biddie Harriet: You are going to be SHOCKED and in AWE at this:: I totally believe Shrub.

(Pause. Pause. While you recover.)

I totally believe that Shrub nominated Biddie from COMPLETE trust and mutual loyalty. He is rooted in PARANOID, personal LOYALTY. The corollary is that he is surrounded by and dependent on this covey of women.

We thought long ago that Karen HUGHES was the one and only main mama, but then Condo RICE slouched out from behind the Baby Grand. And we thought THAT was it.

We thought he was more in the hands of those men/GEEKS - ROVE, but then this Biddie Harriet surfaced and this whole other pattern became clear: Shrub NEEDS AND LOVES a whole covey of mothering hens!

Now. That said, there are 1) His Wingnut disgruntle-EES and 2) the Dems.

Contrary to what wingnut yakkers are hoping, Biddie Harriet's withdrawal will not be any victory for the Disaffected Wingnuts. If the withdrawal happens, to be sure Shrub will probably HAVE to nominate an extremist Wingnut, but happiness will not reign in Wingnut World. For one thing, all wingnuts, but Shrub in particular, are incredibly vengeful. Remember, he really-REALLY TRUSTS/LOVES Biddie Harriet. If he is forced to ditch her, he will wreak hell on his wingnuts who forced him. And as for them, he did the damage to the relationship with them already, and can't fix it with whomever he nominates as an afterthought.

As for thoughts re: "WHAT HARRIET THINKS" about this or that: Her old ex-fiance from college days has said HE didn't even know then OR NOW what she thought about anything. She is like what catlovers discover----a catlover once said that he spent 17 years wondering what his cat mysteriously THOUGHT, and finally concluded that IT DOESN'T THINK ANYTHING. Biddie Harriet is one of those non-entity, workaholic, asexual drudges who are completely dedicated to their job/ organization/boss-------who work nights and holidays, who are INDISPENSIBLE but taken for granted--until those very delayed thank-yous, which are doubtlessly sincere.

If she doesn't withdraw, it will only mean that SCALIA will have another Stupidhead (with Clarence) to babysit and deliver.

As for the Dems: Her withdrawal BAD, means Extreme Wingnut Replacement.

1. You're right
I don't know if this article warrented all the highlighted bits, but I agree with your assessment. I think a side note is that, assuming he's not being blindly loyal to her, he's probably hoping that we will raise enough of a stink that he can blame his withdrawl on us.

Like the Trent Lott Situation. The truth is that the Conservatives turned on Lott when he made his unfortunately revealing comments. Some were made at him for having mishandled the impeachment (Clinton got off), others wanted to take down a potential competitor and so on. If the White House and the Party had stood up for Lott, he probably could have weathered the storm. They took him down.

But the story they keep telling us and themselves is that Liberals on a PC rampage took him down. Because that's a more pleasing story (to them). It's smpler and it has their traditional bad guys in it. Along those same lines, they would probably much rather be able to tell themselves the Miers nomination went down in flames because of the evil Liberals not because of disunity in the party.

2. It's bad either way, but I agree, we could do worse than her.
She's so ewwwwwwwwwwww.

She's just not Supreme Court material.

Miers is to Supreme Court as a _______ is to a punch bowl.

That was the SAT question of the day.

The answer is ... turd.

3. It's another indication of how corrupt politics is this country.
The people are stuck with a cypher or a maniac to make decisions about their lives.

6. "honest politcian" is an oxymoron.
Sort of like "compassionate conservative" or "pro-war progressive".

5. She'd be the closest thing to having a BFEE family member on the SCOTUS...
She was nominated for one reason only -- to have a * clone "interpreting" the laws of the land. Talk about legislating from the bench.

And on that basis alone, her confirmation should be fought fang and claw.

Even though most people admit that they no nothing about where she stands on anything, fundie nutjob James Dobson is all for her -- and *that* makes her a very dangerous choice.
