WHO should be President in these Strident and Troubling Times?
Whoever He/She is.....should be in possession of:

Reason
Logic
Sanity
Common Sense
A Full Deck of Cards
Love
Compassion
Emphaty
etc

A Clean record...
History of productive and profitable accomplishments.

and is altruistic and benevilent...

Where do we find them that fit ???? No one becomes a 747 pilot without training... WE MUST TRAIN our Leaders.....filter out the bad ones and go with the good one...Dats whot the NFL and ABA does...

Dats what the Bar Exam is for

and the Med Guys have their ways of training doctors

etc etc

There is no training for the President....to confirm...just look at the disaster sitting there now...in the White House...

and accruacy...going for the candidates who has the best odds to do the damn job...not because of his sexuality or fantacies or whatever..

we should be asking ourselves who has the ability to deliver what is best for the Nation/State/Community

If the president chosen by the American people, that would be Al Gore, was in office rather than the court-appointed one, I suspect that we wouldn't be dealing with a good deal of the crap we're dealing with.

how different our world would be if the rightful inauguration had taken place. Vice President Lieberman, though, I could do without. I truly believe he dragged down the ticket to within the level of being stealable.

8. Of course, we wouldn't be.
We never would've gone into Iraq, and we'd have most of our soldiers home from Afghanistan by now. Also, we wouldn't have raided our record surplus treasury to put us into the unimaginably-gigantic record debt we're currently in. Future Americans are going to wonder why we didn't lynch these pieces of shit.

And I would venture that Gingrich would've pushed the GOP lawmakers to stay out of Gore's way on this, as he was part of the panel that worked on that report for 2 1/2 years.

23. Me.
:)

I would go over the head of both Parties and request a windfall profits tax on the Big Oil companies. I would repeal every single executive order of George W Bush. I would request a return to the tax rates of the Clinton Administration, with an extra surtax on the super wealthy to help pay for the deficit run up in hte last 5 years. I would call a world-wide conference with all the major leaders in the industrialized world, and the third world, to see how we could restore our credibility with them and how we could work together to make the lives of our citizens better. I would begin withdrawal of all troops from Iraq in 3 months, in levels of 25,000 per withdrawal. I would demand an increase in the minimum wage to 7.50 per hour. I would put a temporary halt on all trade agreements until they could be studied further and any companies that leave our shores simply to increase their profits would pay an import fee if they brought their products back to our country. I would put the National Guard on our borders so that the immigration could be controlled in a sensible manner. However, we would not punish those immigrants that wish to work in our country and become US citizens. There would be guaranteed employment for any person that wishes to work. The Defense budget would be cut 50% off the top to pay for programs for our people. I would take the health insurance out of the hands of employers and have the premiums paid into a national healthcare system. Everybody that works would pay 5% into the national healthcare system and would receive a healthcard that they could go to the doctor of their choice. Price controls would be put on the drug companies. I would request repeal of the Patriot Act and the end of the war on terror. I would start a national program for youths to work for credits to the college of their choice. and more.... :)

Your health-care program would work, but how do you get it past the politiwhores that live on their contributions?
Can we seriously talk about dismantling the federal reserve system?
The "war on drugs" could be ended by Presidential fiat. How about that?
A $400 billion DoD budget? Ridiculous! Cancel all of the over-priced, under performing weapons systems that we're currently advancing in order to prepare for a war that can't happen.
Begin a national debate on the 14th amendment? Make it applicable to only persons?
Withdraw from NAFTA and the WTO.

The Pubs do it already...they have talking points faxed all over the country, etc

But the Dems should be focusing on what is best and how to attain, how to succeed, and how to inform, inspire more voters to come forth and vote smarter...its like learning to taste wine...ya gatta learn which is better by practice.

the better the odds for a good hand...Bush is running on 6 to 8 cards.
Very poor odds...Clark...imho...he has about 44 cards in his brain..able to solve with good odds.

I agree, Clark would be an excellent President...

But then, so would some of the others.

The Dem Party should set up a litmus test of sorts.....to determine card count...How to Solve 362 requires a 40+ count prerequisite, is an excellent course/class.

The Teachers/speakers should be our wise and tested Dems...Mario, Clinton, Kerry, Gore, Sharpton, etc....

We should have periodic symposiums for the younger wannabes...that they can learn good paths to take from the passing guards. Fresh Blood needs good tools and philosophies for the next battles....
