27. Judging by the half smirk
when he walked to his car after the hearings today. I would predict he's up a proverbial tributary without the proper means of locomotion.

4. The "Popular Theory"
"Fitzgerald wouldn't have taken the investigation this far if he had nothing, only to turn in a report that showed no evidence of wrong-doing."

OR...

To put it in good ol' boy fake Texan Connecticut Cowboy terms, "Well, Stretch, I don' think he wunna dun it if 'n that dog wunnt ready to HUNT."

18. who calls him "the original Untouchable"
<snip>

"I thought, 'He is the original Untouchable,' " Peter Fitzgerald says. "You could just see it in his eyes that he was a straight shooter. There were no levers that anyone had over him. He had no desire to become a partner in a private law firm. He has no interest in electoral politics. He wanted to be a prosecutor."

17. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO POST THAT FITZ IS NOT A REPUBLICAN
Sorry for yelling, but it is getting tiresome

washington post - read the whole article while you are there. . .it is good!

<snip>

Fitzgerald is careful to be apolitical in his targets and his public life alike. He registered to vote as an Independent in New York, only to discover, when he began receiving fundraising calls, that Independent was a political party. He re-registered with no affiliation, as he did later in Chicago.

He spit fire last year when reporters asked whether the racketeering indictment of Muhammad Hamid Khalil Salah, a fundraiser for the Islamic militant group Hamas, was timed to boost President Bush's reelection campaign. The case was trumpeted first by Attorney General John Ashcroft.

"I am not running for an election. I'm not part of a political party," Fitzgerald said at the time. "The election is irrelevant to this case. The reason we brought this case now is we're ready to proceed."

24. I have been calling him a republican for some time. I did not know about
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 06:02 PM by AlinPA
his re-registering with "no affiliation". OK, I feel better about him now, but dammit I'm still suspicious why they (admin) would allow such a strong prosecutor to be appointed. (Hubris?) I still have trouble how long this is taking. I'll wait and see. Things may be looking up; Rove was in there for 4 hours.

15. Slippery SOB
Rove is one pretty slippery slug, but I think he will be indicted. It wouldn't surprise me to see the angry right-wingers withdraw support of Rove to teach Bush a lesson.

20. Pessimistic here
Rove had too long before his final appearance to get his "story" straight. Need to know what Judy told him to say either after she got out or through one of his emissaries on a visit ala Bolton.

21. Conspiracy; obstruction; perjury; misuse of classified data
but not the outing of Plame.

THat is easily ten years in the Pokey.

Bush has got to let him go... but if he does not come to his aid I think he is going to flip Cheney.

Rove is Bush's Pal but Cheney is pulling the strings. It's going to get very interesting.

Cheney will not resign... It is not in his character. Is he indictable? here comes the next great debate.

22. The ominous tip off
was Fitzgerald saying this time when he came to the grand jury there was no guarantee that he would not be indicted. And that everything he stated could be used against him.

Wheww, I wouldn't want that little post-it on my desk from a special prosecutor. I think the rosey cheek bastard is going to be having a change in his menu.
