FOX News calls CIA Leak the "criminalization of politics"...
Stuart Varney, FOX voice on the economy, had David Corn and Sherry Bimbo, a Republican stooge, on his show and Varney made that comment. This goes on all the time he said. Corn had to remind both of them that Fitzgerald was appointed by John Ashcroft at the request of the CIA, not at the request of Democrats. This is a Republican investigation. No need to cry about it now.

7. That's THE worst spin phrase ever. "Criminalization of politics".
It just reinforces the idea of criminality. It says "this politician = criminal" to the average person.

They're really losing it these days.

17. You're right
When I first read the headline, I thought they were refering to Karl Rove and buddies. What they did, outing a CIA agent for political reasons, IS the criminalization of politics.

15. Someone's been getting their talking points from William Kristol, that is
the exact phrase he used last week. Must be the new meme. No actually Faux and Kristol, it is the criminilization of CRIMINALS, you know those people who've done something WRONG and against the law, like, oh, say,....TREASON, those would be the criminals. They are going to be punished for their crimes against our country, not for being politicians.

18. It will be the Delay talking point too

The rule: If a Republican is indicted, it's because the prosecutor is politically motivated.

The rationale: Republicans are innocent. We are trying to fight terror. 9/11 changed everything so we have new rules. Clinton got a blowjob.

20. I thought it was interesting
that when Corn called him on this, he was unabled to respond. While this is the new line for republicans, it is meaningless. The more they are challenged on its meaning, the quicker the phrase will be retired.

Sherry is yet another of the republicans with a histrionic personality disorder with severe borderline features, who is put on stage to try to get the democrat debating her to react to her shrill personality, rather than respond to her shallow positions.

24. Agree. They're not even sure what it means.
KristolNacht might as well have said, "This is the velveeta-cheesing of politics." Repubs would have the same difficulty trying to explain it.

21. Um, nobody MADE them break the law
Nobody MADE them conspire to expose the identity of a covert CIA agent investigating WMD proliferation, compromising her network and putting our national security at even greater risk.

Nobody MADE them lie to federal investigators--the same crime Martha Stewart went to jail for.

Nobody made them commit perjury in front of a grand jury--pretty much the same alleged crime Bill Clinton was impeached for.

The law is the law. These assholes are saying that Rove, Libby et al should be above the law because they're politicians--when you or I or Martha Stewart would go to jail for violating that same law.

22. They lied about the cause of war, and that is how they got here
They lied to go to war, then attacked the one guy who knew they were lying when he revealed their lies. That is not criminalizing politics by those who Rove accountable. It is criminalizing politics by Rove et al. They are the ones who regularly commit felonies in furtherance of getting what they want.

Lo and Behold, it appears yet again..

Expect it on CNN, MSNBC, etc -- unless of course we are "FIGHTING FOR IRAQ" The new Slogan..

Anyone here old enough to remember Reagan being called "SloganBreath"?
