after a long night before, listening to the free jazz bands in Jackson Square.

Porphyrian but I will get as much info to DUERS as I can. Don't hold me to this, but as of 14 October, the trolley cars are not running (electrical issues.) If I'm wrong, please, strip me naked in the middle of bourbon st and redden my behind. All of a sudden I hope I'm wrong.

17. Not the actually trolleys, silly... |
|
I mean the Trolley Stop, if that's what it's still called. It is/was a little greasy-spoon that served killer affordable breakfast all night (I think). It was on St. Charles right near the Ponchartrain(sp?) Hotel. I've lost some fond memories of that place.

8. When I first moved to New Orleans in '88, I went with a friend to |
|
Cafe Du Monde...he happened to inhale as he took a bite of his beignet and choked til he was red in the face! From then on we referred to beignets as "white death"...when people came to see me, a cup o' chicory and a plate of "white death" first up on their "to do" list. Bosshog, I really appreciate your updates. Left NO in '95 - these last few weeks have been an agony to witness from afar. Please take good care and keep us posted on every little thing going on down there...

14. It will be my pleasure |

We spent our 10th anniversary at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Easter Sunday 1984. I'm from Fayetteville but haven't been back in awhile. Thorncrown Chapel, oh my! Faye Jones did a smaller version for an arboretum down here in South Mississippi. It received some minor hurricane damage. He passed away recently I believe. I did a TV story on the chapel (Channel 29) when it opened (1981??)
Nestled in the peace and quiet of an Ozark Mountainside Thorncrown Chapel awaits the visit of a wayward traveler.
Latest NOLA update, half of the twinspan from Slidell to the Big Easy opened yesterday (part of I-10). The other half to open in January. More good news.
Take care!
