Any PROOF Congressional Democrats Are Low In The Polls? Anyone???
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 06:34 PM by cryingshame
When a mediawhore, especially a lying liar like O'Reilly, spews that "polls" indicate that Congressional Democrats aren't doing well in the polls, why the hell DO YOU BELIEVE THEM?

Especially if they don't have actual, reputable polls and figures to back up their assertion?

Especially when the latest poll posted in LBN showed Congressional races looking good for Democrats?

From latest NBC/WSJ poll: "For the first time in the poll, Bush's approval rating has sunk below 40 percent, while the percentage believing the country is heading in the right direction has dipped below 30 percent. In addition, a sizable plurality prefers a Democratic-controlled Congress, ..."

Is it because you dont' give a crap about truth?

Maybe it's more enjoyable for some to just accept the mediawhores' lies because one can then go on to trashing Democrats and ride that tired, pathetic hobby horse that all Democrats are DLC-lite?

Is it because some DU'ers don't watch CSpan or read the news and have no idea what Democrats are actually doing (like pushing for amendments to help Americans afford energy & healthcare?

5. It's about what people think of THEIR representatives in Congress, not
what they think of Congress in general that matters.

8. But Dem APPROVAL rating is no better. The key here is the
UNSURE vote. Dems have much more UNSURE votes than Reps, which mean we need to make our voices heard.

The Dem disapproval rating is still higher than the approval rating. So, the Dems ARE low in the polls (Reps are just a little lower).

So, we can't just sit back at laugh at the Reps going down the tubes, we have to get off our butts and convince the public that Dems can lead this country back onto the right track!

4. Unfortunately, yes. The Pew poll, also in LBN.
Showed bad news for the Repukes, but no better for Dems:
"And while Bush and his party are struggling, the Democratic Party continues to be viewed in the same negative light as the Republicans. Only about third (32%) approve of the job Democratic leaders in Congress are doing, while the same number has a positive view of Republican congressional leaders (32%). Both measures have declined slightly over the past month (36% approval for each in mid-September)."

We need to work hard for 2006.

7. but assume that we do kick ass. I can see shrub then claiming
because he did so well, he has this man-date thing. Until someone reminds him that Gannon is no longer in the WH press corpse.

It just struck me that even if these numbers continue, we will have a HELL of a task ahead of us. The Neocons are doing so much damage, that it will take years of hard work, I mean really nitty gritty, unpleasant and back-ache creating, sweaty shit work, just to stop the damage. Actually fixing it, starting with education, elderly poverty, science policy - just on the domestic front is a mind-boggling job. Even worse is the international scene. Putting Bolton, Rice, Cheney and Rumsfeld in jail would be a great first step.
