4 hours with the Grand Jury.

Did he satisfy them?

Isn't Judy due to go back next week?

18. What look of Fitz? I'm SO worried that his non-political stance will
be made political by promises of some sort by the BFEE. I'm so cynical, that I just expect that these criminals will once again get off scott free.

17. Just barely, and it looked forced.
My mind's eye has him exploding in anger, slobbering, then crying and sucking his thumb on the way back to the White House.

Thought you could beat Washington, eh Karl?

8. He ratted somebody out, guaranteed
He still might pay. But he tried to pin it all on Libby, and when that didn't get him off the hook, he ratted out Big Dick Cheney. That's my prediction.

That he's FAT BASTARD!!

I eat BA-BIES!!

But seriously, he was there for 4 hours. I don't think Karl Rove can GO that long without telling a major lie, probably not 4 minutes.

Over the years, he has become convinced that he can lie his way around anything. But my sense is Fitzgerald is simply immune to being influenced that way. He has to know, and he has to be indicting.

22. In Four Hours They Probably Reviewed Everything He Has Said
He was given the opportunity to explain contradictions, gaps and inconsistencies. He doesn't have notes on what he said in his earlier testimony before the Grand Jury, so even if he is telling the truth, the consistency of his testimony will be placed in question. Now that Miller has testified and produced notes showing that she discussed Plame with Libby in June, however, it will be hard to prove that Rove was the first to out Plame since the first conversation we know of with Rove occurred in July -- unless Fitzgerald has evidence of a conspiracy that began before June 23 or thereabouts.

In addition, Rove is probably extremely relieved to know he doesn't have to go back to testify before the Grand Jury. The Grand Jury ordeal is pretty much over.

By the way, knowing what we know about the Bush administration, would you put it past that gang to intimidate members of the Grand Jury? I've been wondering about that. It seems to me that Bush, et al. could find out the identities of the members of the Grand Jury. Rove is unscrupulous when he campaigns. I wonder if he would be comply with law with regard to a grand jury?

26. Not to Miller, but he could be a conspirator
and he could have conspired to obstruct justice, and he could have committed perjury. I don't think Fitzgerald will bring charges he can't win against these guys. It would be too dangerous. He is going to be very cautious. On the other hand, he will bring charges if he thinks it is warranted. If it is warranted and he doesn't bring them, he will look like a wimp and a political lackey. That would destroy his reputation for independence and objectivity. He can't afford that. His reputation is what pays his bills.

31. I would not be surprised if...
... someone ends up missing or dead. This thing runs pretty deep as it is related to the intelligence fixing and lies for going to war with Iraq. All of these things will come up when the indictments come. Those involved may have nothing to lose and everything to gain by having someone assassinated. In fact I'm surprised it hasn't happened already.

28. I honestly believe that Mr. Fitzgerald is gathering evidence
to find out who is behind the criminal act of the exposure of a CIA operative, a crime that is not only vile and abhorrent to the citizens of this country, but also deserving of serious penalty (not to mention shame and dishonor).

I believe that Mr. Fitzgerald is a serious man of substance, and will leave no stone unturned to get to the heart of the matter. And I firmly believe that he will give equal weight to all persons who may have taken an active role in this crime, regardless of their position or celebrity.

I think Mr. Rove is in serious trouble.

29. He got into that car in record time. Barely touched the pavement.
James Bond couldn't make a better gettaway.

Forget the smile: That was no saunter back to the bar. He's hugely embarrassed, and trying to minimize his airtime.

That wasn't confidence. It was disgust with his own sliminess.

He was prolly on his 5th jack daniels within the hour.
