The Miers Nomination: What is it REALLY All About?
I don't understand why Bush would risk all the flak he's getting from the right wing. Is he setting something up? The Miers nomination doesn't make sense. There's got to be some way of looking at it that adds up. But whatever it is, I don't see it.

Can somebody help me out? What's going on here? Why is Bush sticking his neck out for a nobody? It's so unlike him.

1. my first thought is that he has become so bloody arrogant that he thinks
he can do whatever he wants, appoint whomever he wants, because nobody is ever going to speak against him.

3. That could be apart of it
Either that or he's trying to save his own butt. He thinks since he has his second term he doesn't have to worry about stealing elections. All he has to do is call out James Dobson to go "nudge nudge, wink wink" with him and he thinks people will jump on the bandwagon. I think it's probably all about the Wilson case.

5. Agree. He's Hubris Man, in the full.
There could be a major shake-up coming in the administration, whether or not prompted by 2 or more indictments -- Rove? Libby? Cheney? Others?

It's really getting fun to watch lately, isn't it.

2. Why? Bush is taking his own advice again.
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 11:07 PM by Neil Lisst
If Bush does something really dumb, you can bet it was HIS idea.

He has been beleaguered, so he's searching for a way to get out of the hole. In baseball terms, he's a hitter in a slump, and every time he steps up the plate, he's trying to hit a home run, instead of just make good contact with the ball.

4. i think shrub is easily manipulable if you know his buttons
and normally rove is in complete control. but with rove being, um, distracted, harry reid saw an opening and set him up brilliantly.

6. Bush does things and thinks he chooses - other people around him

fill him with what he needs to know to make the "right choice". The other people are fighting with the branches of the right who are so upset.

In my estimation.
