Are these really 2 different things?
Edited on Sat Oct-15-05 09:41 AM by ck4829
2 groups want a Theocracy.

One group uses Terrorism and Direct Violence.

Another group uses little violence, but it uses propaganda, scare tactics, psychological terrorism, subversion, etc.

The Theocracy that both groups want is very brutal and dangerous.

But, which one is the bigger threat?

Are the two groups really all that different?

1. Another group uses little violence...yet.
I think the only difference is that the first group has been operating a little bit longer, in more desperate conditions.

2. Interesting
that the two theocratic bodies in question seem to be working toward their own best interests, and cooperatively so.

5. All religious zealots are pretty much the same, however,
I would argue that both sides are using terrorism, vis a vis 'Shock and Awe'

6. I recommend the book
"When Religion Becomes Evil." It's an excellent read that pretty much gives the psychology behind fundamentalism in any religion, and how such fundamentalism in any religion tends toward, and sometimes becomes evil.
