Where are all the W stickers?
Here in Phoenix AZ, there seems to be less and less W or Bush-Cheney stickers that were everywhere not too long ago. Could it be that his supporters are finally starting to see the light? or they are wearing off? I have my W with a slash through it sticker still on.

1. That's why they're magnetized....
It keeps people from being "stuck" with an upopular bumper sticker!

56. I do that too!!! I have (had) a stack of them.
Time to make more copies. I figure if they are here driving, they could be driving in the armed forces. I see a lot of them on disabled plated vehicles. That used to give me pause, but then I thought "they must have families that could enlist". And I put them under those cars' windshields anyway.

57. I used to live there too (for school)
Something like 60% of the workforce was employed by the DoD. When I started school in 1984, we were admonished the first night about how CS had the 3rd highest assault rate in the nation. I don't know if that's still true.

A good friend of mine who has always been a free-spirited, partying, artist recently sent me a postcard letting me know she had been born-again. And they live in Manitou Springs. That used to be "witch" country when I lived there. Cool town. Hope it hasn't turned fundie along with CS.

Conversations there always started with "what church do you attend?".

Ugh...spent most of my time in the hills when I could get away.

6. Saw ONE this week, but it was a doozie:
Corporate Christian fish symbol with an American flag background. "Pray for our troops" written on the black outline of the fish and "Bush" in the middle of the fish.

It was on a ramshackle van with some greasy-lookin' guy driving it. The whole van was piled with various and sundry crap up to the windows.

I was laughing for many reasons.

And I do a little Powerpoint thingy on the ichtys symbol of the early Christians, including all the spin-offs.

I offer a small bounty, grade-wise, for new spin-offs, and this one, the bush-fish, came in last year's submissions.

was found on the back of a bright orange VW Beetle. "Terri was Murdered" a Schaivo referrence in a large banner-like sticker with Bush/Cheney 04 next to it with a Belle Schoals Baptist Church on the other side. I would call that the trifecta of ignorance.

With the approval rate from African-Americans recently at 2%, we need to ask ourselves if displaying a Bush-Cheney bumper sticker indicates that the car's owner hates 98% of all African-Americans!

The only cars I'm seeing with pro * stickers are the same old cars I see over and over again. I'm astonished at how fast the stickers have been disappearing since June.

I'm also gradually starting to see more anti * stickers than I ever thought I would see up this way. Makes me hopeful.

20. Still Plenty In Travis County
There are still Bush and Bush and Cheney bumper-stickers to be found here in Travis County, Texas. They're particularly prevalent on full-sized pickup trucks, Cadillac Escalade SUVs, luxury sedans, and on cars of various makes festooned with various "Christian" stickers.

As I see it, some auto owners are being "serviced" by the current regime, others are being "served up," but lack the good sense to know it.

23. I saw no Bush stickers in Texas at all
None in Dallas, none in Ft. Worth, none in Grapevine, none in Garland, none in Irving, none in Grand Prairie, none in Plano and none in Arlington.

Oh I saw one Bush sticker in Irving, it was on the back of a pick-up and it said - No Bush.

However, I did see three John Kerry For President stickers, one of the cars had Arkansas plates, the other two had Texas plates.

My friend and I were joking, that all of the Junior fans were ashamed and afraid to have the Bush stickers still on their vehicles, as they either didn't want their vehicle to be subjected to vandals or when they were driving they didn't want their vehicle rammed from behind on the road...and both are probably true.

Edited on Sat Oct-15-05 03:25 PM by ...of J.Temperance
It's on 635 MacArthur. I heartily recommend the Cajun Etoufee with crawfish, the Tricky Fish - blacken'd fish, dirty rice and shrimp etoufee, the Jalapeno Catfish and the Shrimp Creole.

The staff are real nice too.

Avoid the Wings From Hell which are marinated in Louisiana "Death Sauce" as if you go near them, you might very well feel the need to call the local Fire Department to come and put you out of your misery ;)

Red Lobster on 4205 W. Airport Fwy. I recommend their fried shrimp and their seafood stuffed mushrooms with melted Monterey Jack. They also do a mean frozen Margarita.

Oh, Razzoo's also do a mean Hurricane :) No Hand-Grenades though

I was raised on crawfish etoufee, Andouille sausage, whole crawdaddies and creole gumbo...Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I'm SO hungry now! I probably even had a Hurricane and Hand-Grenade mixture in my baby bottle knowing my family :)

away, I've got neighbors who fly the flag day and night, rain and shine, with "W 04" stickers on both of their vehicles. Interestingly enough, they're the WORST neighbors on the block. Loud-ass, non-mufflered trucks that drive 40+ MPH on the residential streets, dogs that bark nonstop, and people who pull up and honk repeatedly instead of getting their lazy asses out to ring the doorbell. Coincidences?
