16. Reminds me of a production of "Man of La Mancha" . . . |
|
my wife and I saw maybe 15 years or so ago. Richard Kiley reprised his role as Don Quixote, but Sancho Panza was played by Tony Martinez, the actor who played Pepino on "The Real McCoys." It's a shame, what typecasting can do: from the moment he opened his mouth, you knew who he was, and for the rest of the play I kept expecting the Knight Errant to hitch up his belt, effect Walter Brennan's gait, and say, "Whelp, Pepino, Dulcinea needs us."

Kinda looks like someone that is trying to mask that he's totally toasted. "Must look sober!"
Either that or he's practicing his goose step for the "victory" parades (frog march?).

Grandpa McCoy had that "heh-heh" laugh, too, although he seemed a lot cuter when he used it.

He's got photo-ops to go to! Minorities to pose with (and rub their heads)! Buzzwords to repeat ad nauseum! Interviews to set-up! Lackies to promote! Attention to divert!
C'mon people! He's got stuff to do!

19. Oh come on so much to criticize. I doubt you know what you're talking bout |
|
I doubt very much if you know his schedule. I doubt if you know who he was meeting with just before, who he might be meeting with immediately on arrival at Camp David, who might be flying with him in the helicopter. Yes I do know about the shirt in New Orleans. If he wants to wear a suit and neck bloodflow restrictor, let him.

20. You know, if they didn't costume him specifically for every photo-op |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-15-05 04:24 PM by Stephanie
Maybe we wouldn't be so interested in his appearance. But they go to such great lengths to dress him up in uniforms or work shirts or construction clothes or whatever image they want to project that day, it is perfectly reasonable for us to analyze what he's wearing outside of photo-op events as well. I'm not letting them off the hook for ANYTHING. Large or small, it's all fair game to me. Just like Kerry's HAIR was for them.
Ridicule is a potent weapon and we need to use every weapon at our disposal. Democrats are too polite. We fight with one hand behind our backs while the Republicans have no such qualms. I wouldn't resort to LIES, as they do, but I am not going to shut up because someone says that's not NICE.

28. It's not just the clothes, either. |
|
His demeanor and weird little habits -- smirks, grimaces, arms stuck out from his body, etc. -- are all hilarious.
And I agree about ridicule being a potent weapon. I see no harm in it. And I would point out that we're just average, anonymous people speaking (anonymously) on a message board, which is hugely different from Republican convention delegates wearing purple heart bandaids, Lynne Cheney talking about Kerry's tan, or Karen Hughes and Karl Rove dressing up in camo for Halloween in order to mock Kerry's hunting trip. Our candidates and party leaders keep their comments about the opposition civil.
On the "average person" level, though, I think it's fine to use ridicule. God knows I've heard plenty of idiotic "Lurch" comments about Kerry or criticism of Teresa Kerry's hair from my Republican "average person" counterparts. So why the hell not point out what a boob their guy is in every sense? He actually does look and act silly. Works for me.

|
usually he walks just like that 8mm film of that bigfoot (who is a female they think) that turned back to look at the camera in the 1960's..
So much so that I had been thinking of interspersing both sections of footage to show the remarkable similarity..
Similarity of course comes from the word SIMIAN, okay, maybe not, but in this case it SHOULD :)
I've never seen a person with more phoney body language at ALL times in my life, and I worked in a "nuthouse" where my job was to read body language to interpret whether that person was in pain of some sort and was unable to convey it to the staff, over 300 of them under my care - for me to read their case histories, then simply Observe them all, then send them for tests if I saw any indications as to an underlying problem.
Ruined me for life, when I walk down the street or am in large crowds I can see pain all around me and know pretty much what people are suffering from, and it hurts ME...
I wish I could feel sympathy for this serial murderer, but I never will..
