Ashcroft aides linked to Abramoff
Jack Abramoff, the former high-flying GOP lobbyist now under federal investigation, is best known for his close ties to ex-House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas.

But Abramoff also boasted about his access to one prominent Missourian—former Attorney General John Ashcroft—and the ex-Missouri senator’s top aide.

In an October 2001 email to a client, Abramoff bragged that he was “supposed to see the Attorney General next week” and that one of his lobbyist colleagues, Kevin Ring, “was slated to play basketball with him before then.” Ring worked for Ashcroft when Ashcroft was in the Senate.

Abramoff also wrote: “We had the COS of the Justice Department in our box at today’s Redskin’s game,” a reference to David Ayres, Ashcroft’s top aide in the Senate and at Justice.

5. Wonder if Saudi money found its way, via Jack, into John's pocket?
No wonder Ashcroft looked so scared, sleepless and shaken up for so long after 9/11. And, no wonder the Justice Dept's terrorist finance probe just never seemed to get off the ground.

Lots of big-time spiders in Abramoff's web.

6. Abramoff sure pimped a lot of Bush "leaders"
They are so cheap. Selling favors for a box seat at a Redskins game.

Sheesh.
