Kristol : "Rove and Libby will be INDICTED"
...for the cover-up not the crime, he just declared on FauxNews talking hack show. That is, according to his sources. "Expect the worst!"

40. I wouldn't be too excited yet...
Sure, it's great that this is happening, but there is no way I can see that anyone is going to be met with justice in accord with the crime.

First of all- someone out there blew in a national security asset. They compromised our national security.
If you or I did this, we'd have been rotting in a hole for the last two years awaiting execution.

I would just love to go on a freeper board and ask how they would feel if we lost a CIA asset because some guy blew the cover on the operation.

Idiots.

So long as it's their 'team', they'll ignore any crime.

43. And that's what is sad
One of the many things I love about being a democrat is we do hold people accountable even if they're in our own party. See the guy who prosecuted Tom DeLay for example. Nobody is above the law and it really is disgusting how the republicans think they are. I just hope this case proves them that nobody is above the law.

54. No, I don't think so.
Everybody wants to minimize the crime. This was high treason, betraying ongoing CIA operations at a most important time in America's history. This should be treaetd as the capital offsense that it is.

55. I agree with you, but that's what the conservatives are spinning:
"The cover-up is worse than the crime."

The best article I've seen on DU to dispute that, is this one:

23. They think they're above the law.........
that their cause is so noble and just that conventional laws made for every other citizen in the country do not apply to them. Nixon set the tone, it was taken to an entirely new level by Reagan and Bush I with Iran Contra and now this group of criminals wanted to take it to a still higher level. No, they don't learn. They are the quintessential mad rulers, drunk with power who think they have to answer to no one. They're idiots, and they'll never change. It's in their DNA.

39. In their hubris, they figured they'd get another scrutiny pass -
little did they think they'd get a conscientious bulldog on their tails.

This will be a win-win historical moment for all of us: a win for those of us who have had our country stolen and hearts broken; and a win for the crooks, as they have earned and are so deserving of a frog march.

12. Remember that most of the info out here floating around
is coming from the right wing or Rove & Libby Lawyers speculation..

I think if they are making whiny noises like that it will be a LOT worse..

I believe that the Cover Up is just the topping on the bannana split - if Fitz is going to do anything involving more than TWO people then THAT is CONSPIRACY, and as I understand it, pretty easy to make STICK..

I want the WHIG group to go down, every last one of them - ALL the monsters that met in ROME in Dec of 2001 are the ROOT of the Niger Forgeries, there's a good chance the freaking forger was sitting in the ROOM with them at that meeting..

LeDeen needs to be hooked up to a car battery and asked a few simple questions about that meeting and the Italian FORGER he knew there.. Remember Ledeen (and he's just one of about 5 TRAITORS in that meeting) worked DIRECTLY FOR ROVE.

Also remember that ROVE once broke in and Stole Letterheads from Dixon's office in the 70's (I believe that's the period, late here for me, up all night again) and created OFFICIAL party invites which he took and handed out to soup kitchens and in the Red Light district of Chicago, the result of which a group of street people and just plain HOs showed up for the FREE BEER and FUN advertised on the official letterheads..

Now in my opinion Rove does the same things over and over and each time does it on a larger scale (a one trick pony who ups the ante each time with more power) and that he is perfectly capable of having had his OWN PLUMBERS break into the Rome Niger Embassy in Dec of 2000 - about the time Bush was being sworn in..

The thieves took a few cheap watches and bottles of perfume, but what they were really after were Niger LETTERHEADS -- see a pattern here?

If someone is robbing your house, they take COMPUTERS and DVD Players.. but a robber looking for state secrets steals other items to make it look like smaller larceny, but had bigger game in mind..

THAT is one of the reasons why I call my film, "Rove's War" and I've got LOTS of goodies in it, researched for a year, baby :)

19. Let's hope it's true
"And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true. So let freedom ring from the hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York.

Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.

Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.

But not only that, let freedom, ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi and every mountainside.

And when this happens, when we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every tenement and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old spiritual, "Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last."

46. There's a 12 minute preview there to help you decide
and it's going to be money well spent..

I don't make Flash/Films, etc without a TON of research and load it up with Facts, at the same time, I HATE documentaries where the heads are interchangable in front of a Computer Monitor, some books on a shelf, a plant and an office chair..

I like to put some FUN in and break it up, but the fun is appropriate and stays in context..

Watch some of my other Flash work there and you'll see how I play, but try to illuminate, educate and entertain all at the same time with FACTS..

Just like the Media, only the Opposite :) (He said Wryly - :) )

I've found out a LOT of things, huge matrix here, tin foil not even needed for it, tho you can find it hard to believe the hubris..

Clinton's big sin was not taking orders from the neocon politbureau and attacking Iraq in 1998- if he had done so Monica gate would have been dropped by them. Monica was entrapment.

Speaking of Fred Barnes, saw him on Fox Propaganda Channel late last night. Praising the latest "democracy" (fixed election) in Iraq. This came after a special (speaking glowingly of the Iraq "election") which had as its host, of all people, Lyin' Dan Senor, a Bush propagandist from way back.

ciphers and sycophants are so easily forgotten- anyway, I got the impression that they had learned to mime Rummy's mannerisms and were little wanna be's.

They have to put a good spin on the elections- it's about all we have to show for our squandered international standing, our troop's lives and limbs, and our social security- which they pissed away.

not to mention our surplus- which they alternatively take credit for and then attack as pointless to have a balanced budget. How many ways can these serpents hiss out of their maw?

by you, but at least we are hearing there will be indictments. Not sure is this will be their talking points, 'oh the crime wasn't really anything, but they shouldn't have tried to cover it up....' in an effort to 'de-criminalize it in the minds of the American people.

33. Then the crime must belong to Cheney or Bush, or both. Someone did it.

52. I hate all these Beltway morans. They are all up to no good.
They are just trying to influence the prosecutor. Make Rove and Libby the lightening rods and take the focus off the real instigators: Dick Cheney and George Bush.

67. Problem is, the prosecutor works a sixteen to eighteen hour day
...and he doesn't watch those assholes! They are shouting into the wind, and all they are doing is attempting, in desperate fashion, to rally their legions.

It ain't working. There's more gloom and doom around DC than there is cowshit on the welcome mat of a cowboy bunkhouse.

68. And Kristol is in bed with Fitzgerald?

If not how in the hell does he know this before the Grand Jury makes the decision?

If Kristol is the one that is delivering this important news than I don't trust the process one bit!

Did Rove tell him?

Did Libby tell him?

Did a plant on the Grand Jury tell him?

Then how does he know!

70. I bet KKKRove or Fibby spilled it, managing expectations
plus if Krystalcon breaks the news he can take credit for being a fair minded law abiding scold of a neocommie- while putting his own spin on it.

They call it: getting out in front of bad news.

72. Cover-up has got to go to the top.
Just like in Watergate, they'll try to insulate the pres. Just like in Watergate, it won't work. By the time the smoking gun comes to light we will already be well on the way to impeachment.

So many parallels. Chimp's congressional support is now going to start withering on the vine.

77. No, we'd have to take the House and get closer in the Senate.
THEN, impeachment could happen and result in removal.

He's probably safe just because of the Cheney factor, and the fact that the Clinton impeachment ruined that for everyone.

N.B., the Senate cannot impeach. Only the House can impeach. So let's just look at the House side.

Moderate Republicans are pissed at Chimp and Company. They are sick and tired of the strong-arm tactics of House leadership. People like Ron Paul, who issued a scathing attack on the administration this week, have got to be close to bringing down the "House" of cards.

There will be a coalition of moderates who realize the inevitability of what's going to happen. These people are not stupid. They very much want to be reelected next year. They will form crucial bonds with some of the Dems. A new agenda may be born out of that coalition.

The CBC is a crucial element in the House. They have carried the water for the Democratic party for a long, long time. With recent polling data suggesting that the Republicans have effectively lost *all* black voters, the moderate Repubs will have to approach the CBC. (Clearly, the contrary is not going to happen.) It matters little that the CBC is very liberal and are all fiercely pro-impeachment. The moderates will have to go to them, and in doing so, will begin to wrap their minds around the fact that status quo is hopeless and that impeachment may indeed be inevitable.

On top of all of this, a significant portion of the West Wing may be close to being indicted.

The dominoes are falling. I think this Congress could very well impeach. Then it's up to the Senate to convict. 2/3 of them may be a tough nut to crack. It may come to pass, though. There's hard work ahead for all of us.

79. "Kristol: Rove and Libby Will Be Indicted "-from thinkprogress.org
...KRISTOL: But talking to people pretty close to both Libby and Rove outside of government, who therefore can talk about it, I think they expect the worse now. I think they –

WALLACE: That both Libby and Rove will be indicted.

KRISTOL: I believe, if I had to predict – and I don’t know more this than anybody else reading the papers – that both Libby and Rove will be indicted, not for what the original referral was about but for some combination of disclosing classified information or perhaps failing to be fully candid with federal investigators or with the grand jury.

To review: Kristol talks to people close to Libby and Rove, then claims he knows nothing more than anybody else. He goes on to predict the two of them will be indicted “not for what the original referral was.” But Kristol then says Rove and Libby will be indicted for, among other crimes, “disclosing classified information” – which is exactly what the CIA referral was about...
