14. Lack of faith in the system, yep.
After five years of BushCo, lies, illegal war, "rendition" of suspects for torture, suspension of habeas corpus, rigged voting, and other horrors, faith in pretty much everything has fallen into the toilet.

15. anyone think to mail this to NYT's managing editor?
This is something they need to see, and act on.
I suspect that if they polled the journalists and most editors within the NYT, the numbers would be that high or higher.

Judy was on the front page and her rendition of her exploits was buried BEHIND it on page 19. Given that that was a big sell for the paper today, gave me hope that they had some journalistic integrity left.

I am sure she has few if any friends there. The tone of the main article leaned toward chatising the paper for supporting her without questioning her story thoroughly first.
