2. Why would you put Boxer Feingold Conyers and Clinton in the same sentence
as givers of hope? Most people who support esp Boxer and Conyers have a difficult time with Clinton!(I assume you meant Hillary? )

4. Different people give different kinds of hope

Each of these 4 gives me something, and yes I meant Hillary. I think she's a big piece of the future, for better or worse.

3. The party in general...well, the CBC and progressive caucuses are
Edited on Mon Oct-17-05 08:34 PM by GreenPartyVoter
more to my taste. But more important than parties at this point is election reform. That should be the main concern of people at this point. The message matters not one whit if the elections are fixed.

5. I want it to go back to the people
and not allow big business money to make them vote against our interests. Most of them still do this but too many are not. We need a grass roots guy to come in . Someone without alot of political experience. Someone who has lived a life similar to most of the people in this country. (not born affluent) When we get this guy we will beat the shit out of the GOP and their worship of the richest . We need an anti Bush. Someone the exact opposite.

6. Russ Feingold of Janesville, Wisconsin
is the closest to this, but with political experience, which I think we would need in a President. He still lives modestly.

Edited on Mon Oct-17-05 08:46 PM by LSK
For example I see Democrats right now on the floor of the House ripping on the Republicans and their abuse of power.

8. Dean is trying to (re)turn the party to it's core values...
...but the corporate money is as corrupting as ever.

Folks, PLEASE contact the Democratic party and donate a measly $10 a month so that the Democrats can be the party of the people again! Dean is asking for 2 million Democrats to donate just $10 a month. This would alleviate the need for our congress people to sell out to the corporations in order to raise a war-chest for the next election.

Are you TIRED of the results from Democratic Party? Then put your money were your mouth is. Don't just talk trash about how the Democrats don't represent you...let them know that they don't have to represent the corporations!!!

Ok, ok, I'm shilling for the party...you prefer the alternative???

10. People should stop whining
We have the devil in the white house now. Stop sniveling and finding fault. The last answer about doing something makes a lot of sense Get out there and work to get dems elected, That is what is needed. Do you have to be led? Now go out and help the cause. Get bush out of office. Get Dems in and then keep on their backs.

16. Sally Seven has a point...
People are starting to get campaigns together NOW!!! Go find out which Democratic candidate excites you. If they excite you they will excite others. They need volunteers...be one! Don't expect someone else is going to do it...YOU have to be willing to do it!

Shit, going to talk myself into another campaign at this point....

18. I agree 100%....
Unless our entire political process were overhauled to make third party candidates a viable option (instead of a vote for the other guy), Democrats are the best we have. Sure they might be like a family member you don't always get along with, but at least they aren't your "wicked uncle ernie" like rethugs!

12. add an option "I'm not a Democrat, and I'm on DU to undermine Democrats
by demoralizing and dividing them"

You might get a few votes w that option!

14. I hope to be part of the revitalization process...
...by getting in on the ground floor as a precinct chair.

That's up to the voters next year, of course.
