Bill Clinton is into safe sax.
Not to mention gospel, spirituals and a little folk music, too.
A sampling of the former President's favorite tunes is on a new CD, "The Bill Clinton Collection: Selections From the Clinton Music Room," that showcases his diverse (though hardly cutting-edge) taste in music.
Clinton, of course, is an accomplished saxophone player who was never shy about performing in public - the CD cover art has a Ray-Ban-wearing Bubba blowing on his instrument, a familiar man-of-the-people image he honed while running for the White House in 1992.

The CD, which lists for $15.95, also has familiar cuts by jazz greats Miles Davis ("My Funny Valentine") and Art Tatum ("There Will Never Be Another You").
But Clinton, who chose the songs himself to raise money for his William J. Clinton Foundation, also displays his affection for the gospel music and old spirituals he grew up with in his native Arkansas. Among those selections are Mahalia Jackson's "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" and "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free" by Nina Simone.

In case anyone was wondering: No, Clinton did not include Mitch Ryder's "Devil With a Blue Dress On." http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/v-pfriendly/story/355411p-302891c.html
