That tower out in Queens is new too. (But then I haven't been in the City since '86.)

12. Nice, thanks!
The Chrysler Building was by far the BEST office space I've ever worked in. The windows actually OPENED and the interior of the lobby is deliciously beautiful.

Of course, we'd never cease to be amazed when we saw ants on the the 47th floor or whatever :)

tiny space but yes, open windows and a breathtaking view of the East River. :)

I loved riding the elevators. They were all designed differently with that gorgeous inlaid wood and steel.

I worked there from 1979 to 1986.

Did you ever make it up to the Cloud Club?? I snuck in there once back in the early nineties.....it was sureal....like a time machine. 3 floors of an art deco nightclub suspended in time at the base of the pyramid.

17. QTVR of Same
Threw the photo into Quicktime this morning and created a QTVR for ya'll's viewing pleasure. Download is about 5.5 meg.

There is a little mismatch at the seam (the MetLife building) owing to horizon drift in the original image. I was able to brush most of it out but some will still be there. Enjoy!

39. Can't view it. I don't have QuickTime and for some reason I've...
never been able to install it: it simply won't load. Probably has something to do with an incompatibility with Microsoft Windows XP or perhaps my Norton Security. Pain in the ass, too, because there's so much only QuickTime will open.

But thanks anyway.

But, guys, I wouldn't do more than visit. Sorry, those concrete canyons block out the sky and the smell of ozone and exhaust is no substitute for that of fresh breezes bearing the scents of fall fruits and grains and the earth.

Scroll aaalll the way to the right--there's the building I'm sitting in right now! I'm a flunky so I don't have a window in my office, but I am like three feet from a huuuge floor-to-ceiling window looking out at the East River.

I <3 this city.
