The indictments will have to be put on hold.

Bushco will be accused but they will assert that they had nothing to do with it.
They will swear on a bible that they had nothing to do with it.

If anyone tries to bring up the indictments again, we are told that the government will be crippled and the 'terrorists' will have a perfect opportunity to overrun the country with terra!

After a bit of scrabbling and backroom threats, our media gives in and we go back to the 'wonderful' umbrella of protection that the Bushco so 'generously' offers us. (The same kind of protection that Vito offers his clients)

3. I don't think they have time to organize something like that now
They're too busy covering their own butts. It's easier just to phone in a terra threat in Baltimore.

6. Which is where he said any announcements would be made
How convenient that a TERRA alert is going on at the hub of the 95 corridor......

15. again...what does Baltimore have to do with DC
I'm sitting in a building three blocks from the WH. Whenever there is a heightened terror alert situation, we get notified. I haven't heard a peep. I haven't seen any signs of increased security. The relationship between the terror alert in Baltimore and DC have a relationship of exactly zero.

20. If there is a TERRA alert of national import
...it will cut into any televised coverage of an announcement by the Special Prosecutor. It is a methodology that the administration uses when bad news about them is about to break. Turn on your TV, it is all terra, all Baltimore, all the time. Frankly, and not to be rude, no one in this administration really gives a shit what people working in DC think, they care about what VOTERS across the country are thinking--and right now, they are thinking there is a TERRA alert in Baltimore on 95, the trucking lifeline of the entire east coast, and oh, a dam is about to break in Taunton, MA. They are not thinking about someone in the White House flipping and fingering Cheney's crew as the suborners of perjury and abrogators of the Constitution.

Mark my words, when the total number of US military dead hits 2K, we will have another one. If this disaster of a war drags on, and the number of dead exceed the number of dead in 911, we will have STILL another one.

Monkeyboy doesn't wag the DOG, he wags the MEDIA....

21. WOW! so fitz announced indictments and no one noticed?
That's incredible. I'll check the metro section of the paper tomorrow, maybe they'll have a little article about it...:sarcasm:

I'd be willing to bet a very large sum of money that, if Fitz announced indictments in the next ten minutes, the news would shift away from the Baltimore "threat" and it would be all-Fitz all-the time for the rest of the night.

But, of course, if Fitz didn't make his announcement already (and doesn't do so sometime today), then how do you connect the terra alert to Fitz?

23. Well, a bridge is on fire in NY right now
A dam is about to break in MA, and who knows what else is on hold?

Look, I am NOT saying that they would not cover the indictment announcement. What I am saying, and what you don't seem to be willing to concede, is that if there are MANY NEWS STORIES, they COMPETE for a slice of the NEWS CYCLE. The greater the competition, the less the coverage. There's more than one note on the news cycle page, onenote.

Instead of all Fitz, all the time, with talking heads, analysis, discussion and special reports, you get the announcement, more on Baltimore, more on Taunton, more on NYC...and then, back to Fitz again.

It is a simple process of dilution, and no sarcasm is involved...it is quite deliberate, and they do it very well. Are you saying that you have not noticed this in the last five years? Olbermann did a whole segment on it.

You might want to take a look at this--I think the announcement is going to happen very soon: http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Cheney_aide_cooperating_with_CIA_outing_1018.html

24. so is Wilma part of the "deliberate" dilution?
and the dam breaking? And the bridge on fire? How about the three run homer last night in the ninth inning? Did Rove order a fat pitch?

Of course there are numerous stories competing for attention. Doesn't mean all or any of them are "planted" for that purpose. News, like shit, happens. Sort of a waste of fake terra threat to do it when all this other stuff is going on and indictments haven't yet been handed down.

25. I am not about to analyze your frustrations
You are either spoiling for a fight, or being deliberately obtuse.

Guess what? I have had the cables on for several hours, and Wilma dropped off the rotation. And I am looking at live shots of 95, which has just been reopened and the threat has now been deemed dubious....which followed live shots of the 59th Street Bridge.

Big whoop...so you believe that was orchestrated because it was important to distract the media for two hours during lunchtime on a day when the indictments didn't come out?

I guess I am obtuse.

Like, I'm sure if anything "happens" to him, and it's not such a crazy idea, he's made sure others have access to all the damning information and evidence they'd need. The "In the case of my death" file.

No way he hasn't thought of this, imho

10. After reading about Fitz, I think he has already thought about an
"untimely" death. He is one tough MoFo and understood the risks involved from the beginning. Also, I will bet he has every "i" dotted and "t" crossed and documentation is perfect order.

He prosecuted the Mafia in Chicago!

16. That's what I'm saying
He prosecuted the Mafia in Chicago!
and no doubt!

This is the kind of guy that won't waste time with conspiracy theories or tin hats, silly or not, but will siimply remove any threat possible by simple measures. Doesn't matter why "they'd" try anything, or if they would, it's a possibility. He's already thought of what they might do. And he's smarter than them :)

Gosh, if I was single, you know? What a great guy, hats off.

so it makes not much difference if Fitz is out of the picture. That's what a "run away Grand Jury" can do so I suppose this one can too.
