Y'all? I've already done this at my place. I am absolutely not joking. Been done since last Spring and today I'm going out for more supplies. Not trying to breed fear or anything like that--but that is how scared I am that something big may go down.

I don't think he will do it here (this time). Too much work for him and no one trusts him or his cronies anymore and he would end up looking even worse, if that is possible. I think he will go for the next war because there are still people out there who will rally for him in this circumstance.

12. I agree with you on the Iran possibility |
|
although I voted for turra attacks in hindsight the "danger" posed by Iran is the more likely option.
The "danger" posed by Iran is in the UK press this morning oddly enough. And since the UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bush Co® (friendly merger I believe after a new Board of Management took over in 1981) it is quite possible that the hype is being generated in anticipation of Fitz announcing later this week.
You are right. A war or even a tense stand off would swing the sheeple behind Bush Co®.

17. Already stuff about impending Iran attack in int'nl press today. |
|
Not sure * will get away with that, depending on how much Fitz gets out before * starts trying to pimp the offense, but still. I relaxed a little when we weren't at war by June. Now, I'm nervous again.

10. They could always bump off Saddam on the way to trial |
|
That would steal the headlines for a few days, and solve the problem of Saddam incriminating any of them. Assuming that's even the real Saddam they have in custody, and I've never been 100% certain of that anyway.

|
I think people are bored with the whole Saddam/ Iraq thing. The tradegy is that so many innocent people were killed in the name of oil pipelines. You may be right the Saddam they picked out of the hole (satged is not the real Saddam) His eyes are different.

The fix is in. Fitz won't indict or charge anyone, he's a paid refereee in this mess. I just hope the evidence is made public, so we can decide for ourselves.

19. A variant of "fake illness" |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 01:41 PM by Tummler
An indicted Dick Cheney's pacemaker "fails," resulting in his death. This would occur before his trial -- to head off any damaging testimony -- and for maximum political impact, a few days prior to the 2006 elections.
Stage one: from all across Wingnuttia and the Wingnut-occupied media, a grotesquely excessive amount of sympathy pours in for Bush and the Cheney family. The goals are threefold. First, they distract attention from the Plame criminal matters. Second, they smear the Democrats as heartlessly "partisan" and ghoulish for failing to sufficiently honor the memory of this Great Man. Third, they seek to influence the November 2006 elections (i.e., a reverse of the manufactured outrage over the Wellstone memorial service).
Stage two: White House and RNC surrogates blanket the airwaves, internet, and print media with calls for Patrick Fitzgerald's head. "This out-of-control prosecutor murdered the Vice President of the United States," they scream. Wingnut "legal scholars" dishonestly pontificate on the likelihood of criminal charges for Fitzgerald. Of course, the real goal here is to undermine Fitzgerald's effectiveness and minimize the political fallout of the Plame charges.
Stage three: after the Republicans retain the House and Senate on the manufactured wave of sympathy, Bush's nominee to replace Cheney easily wins confirmation. Furthermore, the Republicans maintain the ability to stonewall any Congressional investigations into the numerous Bush scandals and crimes.
