O'Reilly whines about karma, poor little guy
Blowhard Bill O'Weinie is whining loudly about how hard his life has become now that so many "evil" people are out to get him.

http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/tv/nyc-etlede4473201oct18,0,2306533.story

Poor Bill! He wags his finger and makes sweeping judgments from atop that ivory tower, and now he can't believe people are firing back. What the hell does he expect?

The right wing attack machine can't expect to avoid the occasional saboteur. When you engage in high-stakes character assassination (Kerry and the Swift Boat Vets for Truth, for example), it's your own damn fault if you feel the need to hire bodyguards. That's the price you pay for the fame and fortune you value above all else.

I once emailed Neal Boortz the simple statement that "payback is tough." He emailed back with the subject line, "You had better read this RE: Your threat of physical violence" and threatened me with legal repurcussions. My response: payback is tough, sport. What goes around comes around. You reap what you sow. Those aren't threats, just one man exercising freedom of speech and telling the truth.

Sounds like these asshats are suffering from some well-deserved paranoia to me.

The funny thing is, I'm non-violent from the word go, while Rush, Hannity, O'Weinie, Savage, and their little lapdog Boortz revel in the violence perpetrated by our military. They want to live high on the hog and live by the sword, without doing any of the slaughtering or butchering they so mercilessly champion.

1. He's on the Daily Show Tonite
He will probably try to turn it into The O'Reilly Pity Party. Boy is he in for a surprise. Even though Jon Stewart is usually pretty even handed with his less than popular guest, I doubt the audience will put up with any of it.

3. I hope someone in the audience
of the daily show brings along a giant violin for the man...

I still can't decide if he or Limpballs is a bigger a-hole...

5. What a laugh, contemplated about running for Pres as an Independent;
the idiot, he is far from being an Independent. These right-wingers really do amaze me.

Do you guys think they really believe the stuff they say? Does Idiot O'Riley really believe he is an Independent?

However, I watch Jon Stewart anyway, will see what he has to say for laughs.

20. Wow .. that's a tough question.
I say it's exactly a tie - both Limpballs and O'Lielly are a**hats.

4. The RWers love to rag on the evil trial lawyers,
but they're the first ones to threaten legal repercussions when their panties get in a wad.

8. And how many RWers do you know who whine about "Al Gore tried
to win the 2000 election in a courtroom" when it was Bush who took it to court?! (Bush v Gore).

10. wow, what a lousy article
:puffpiece:

You know nothing more about O'Lielly after reading it than you did before, you just know he has another book coming out and that he is tired of being famous. Nice journalism. :sarcasm:

12. Maybe because I hang around DU so much
but I thought the article was purposely mocking him. Like, when, out of the blue it claims that O'Reilly requested the interview. Sort of like O'Reilly wanted them to say one thing, and the writer was saying the opposite.

13. you might be right
I tried to read it that way, too, but never quite got it. Makes sense, otherwise the article offered little. hmmm, kinda like O'Lielly.

11. I thought this guy I used to work with had the most over-inflated ego
on record. I was wrong.

I mean, with Terrel Owens I always feel like part of him knows it's all an act, that he's performing for the cameras. This loopy fruitcake actually believes he's a martyr, a warrior, and a victim?

That's the mentality I always see just before I read that someone has checked into rehab. This guy is either not sane or not sober.

14. God, that article is pathetic.

A "flame-throwing newsman", eh? I didn't realise flames were brown, sloppy and smelled exactly like horseshit. Even using the word "newsman" is a diabolical liberty.

Bill the warrior. Bill under death threats. I had to smack my head against my desk repeatedly to keep from collapsing with laughter. No mention, of course, of Bill the renowned, shameless, PROVEN FUCKING LIAR. Another fine moment for American "journalism".

On edit: I commend the hopeful souls on this thread who are trying to see the article as subtle anti-Bill satire. I wish you were right, but I just can't see it. A satire of this kind with absolutely no mention of Bill's seemingly endless litany of ignorant, bullying bullshit comments is pretty pointless.

16. Their philosophy is summed up in the title of Hannity's book,
Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism.
As if the three are anywhere near being in the same ballpark.

17. Actually, I thought the article was
pretty hilarious, whether intentional or not. We have this line

"He insists that he finally sees the road ahead, and it probably leads out of Fox News headquarters and away from the scorching spotlight - forever." - It reads like O'Reilly isJohn Wayne at the end of The Searchers,or sort of Bill O'Reilly goes off to be a Buddhist to retreat from the world.

And then there is "He says, 'We're a defensive player except on the kids' stuff then we're on the offense.'
But that would appear debatable if not delusional."
Thanks. I'll go with delusional.

I mean, even the first line: "media firebrand Bill O'Reilly spawns enmity in all that he does - and he's sick of it" is a joke. Well, then he should stop being such a putz.

My only concern is that Jon will treat him seriously. I don't want Stewart to go at him. I just want him to laugh at him. That's it: 10 minutes of Stewart saying "you know, you really are an out and out asshole" and just laughing at him.
