CIA: A Liberal Think Tank?
This is the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Apparently this guy thinks that the CIA is a "Liberal Think Tank" because agents wanted a special prosecutor to investigate the outing of Valerie Plame.

Oh, and he wants our intelligence to be PRIVATIZED. How's that for scary? And he's currently fifth vice-president of the National Association of Chiefs of Police! Feel safe yet?

One complaint often heard privately within law enforcement circles is that the Central Intelligence Agency over the years has morphed into a Liberal think tank rather than maintaining its role as a strategic and tactical intelligence agency. An even bigger concern is that the agency has become overly politicized and prone to leaking information to the mainstream news media in order to have an impact upon the political climate within the Beltway.

For instance, it was the CIA hierarchy who demanded a special prosecutor investigate the so-called Valerie Plame-CIA leak case. It's widely accepted that the law regarding divulging a covert operative's identity did not apply in the Plame case. Even the writers of the statute are quoted as saying such. Yet here we are in the midst of a far-reaching investigation into the alleged leak.

Prioritization is a must. The highest priorities for US intelligence collection -- and, in most cases, analysis -- for the foreseeable future include the following: the status of nuclear weapons and materials in the former Soviet Union; developments in Iraq, Iran, and North Korea; potential terrorism against US targets in the continental United States and overseas; unconventional weapons proliferation; and political and military developments in China. Other targets could be added to this list temporarily if, for example, US forces were to be deployed in significant numbers.

1. what major horseshit this is
and no sources to back up his stupid hearsay.

If a police officer was killed in the line of duty, would the leadership in the police hierarchy ignore it? Or would they call for an investigation?

Since the damage was already done (Plame was outed) why would they NOT call for an investigation? Would her cover be blown? No.

If a liberal think tank is defined as one obsessed with gathering true facts (as opposed to a conservative think tank, which is only concerned in gathering the facts which support the conservative agenda and burying the facts which don't) then it does seem more liberal than conservative in approach. But guess what, the CIA doesn't have a partisan agenda. It's there to discover the truth and tell the president, becasue anything less than the truth is DANGEROUS.

Shrub didn't want to hear some truth: that Bin Laden was about to strike, and he didn't want to hear that Iraq's WMD were destroyed long ago, or past their date of effectiveness. So he labelled the CIA to discredit it. This didn't remove the truth, and the label just didn't apply to the CIA.

If it's a truth he doesn't want to hear, he labels it as partisan to discredit it. That technique has served us badly, to the tune of 2000 soldiers dead.

4. CIA "liberal"? Yeah. And the Gestapo was a humanitarian group.
Ronald Reagan was an intellectual.
Donald Trump is humble.
George A. Custer was a military genius.
Strom Thurmand was a champion of civil rights.
Jeffrey Dahmer was a gourmet.

5. What is "CPP"? Crappy Pseudo-Pundit?
by Jim Kouri, CPP

My particular favorite:

potential terrorism against US targets in the continental United States and overseas

What about us (and Alaska)? Are we "overseas", or are we just not on the priority list? What a moran.
