Two years ago, the Federal Communications Commission tried to weaken the rules that protect our right to local, diverse, competitive media and they tried to do it without getting any input from the public. These changes would have paved the way for a handful of giant companies to own your local media outlets.

What happened next was amazing! Word got out about the FCC’s plan, and the public was outraged. More than 2.2 million people let the FCC know it by sending in their letters!

In the wake of this public mobilization, the courts threw out the FCC's rule changes.
