WHY did BIG DICK buy a BIG HOUSE????
ENQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!!!

Let's see, what DO we know?

Big Dick recently bought a $2.9 Million mansion in St. Michaels MD. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/04/AR2005090401391.html

The housing market has not headed down quite yet. It's starting, but all indicators are that you will be able to get a better deal if you WAITED a bit. http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/CNBCTV/Promos/P133148.asp

So why, then, would Big Dick, corporate whiz extraordinaire, BUY HIGH? He lives in government housing, rent free, pays no utilities, has servants...so why would he buy a house now, when odds are better than even that he could save himself a bundle if he waited for a year or so??

Why would Lynne race to POTTERY BARN --at least twice--to quickly furnish this joint, instead of having some hoity toity decorator type spend a few years doing it properly? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/29/AR2005092900149_2.html

Could it be that HE KNOWS HE IS TOAST??? That he has KNOWN FOR SOME TIME??? And he is setting himself up so that he will still have access to the monkey in DC and Camp David, so that he can continue to issue marching orders in convenient fashion, if he is "sent packing?"

Let us examine a few of the possibilities:

He has a source inside the Grand Jury, who is telling him everything;
He has a source inside Fitz's office, spilling all the beans;
He is BUGGING the Grand Jury or Fitz's office (he has CIA pals who can help him with that sort of shit);
Hannah and Wurmser came to him, or Scooter, and confessed that they ratted him out;
He is a goddamn psychic.

It just doesn't make sense for that money-grubbing bastard to buy high now when he could buy low later. He didn't get rich making business decisions that did not benefit his own miserable self first and foremost, now, did he??

Thoughts, anyone?

3. Big Dick bought a Big House because Big Dick is a Big Dick
with a Big Ego and a Big Conscience problem. Perhaps Big Dick needs to spend his Big Retirement in a Big Prison for his Big Treason and get Big Sex Visits from Big Bubba with Bubba's Big Dick.

11. Pottery Barn???? A Designer doesn't HAVE to take years.
And a designer has access to stuff we don't, and not all of it is special order. Pottery Barn can take a while for things not in stock. Sheesh! Lynn Cheney furnishes her home from Pottery Barn?

They have a nice look, but hmm.... the Cheneys? Is this an attempt to look all middle class and everything? Perhaps there is a pair of matching Lazyboys on the way. :shrug:

13. We need to station someone at the Naval Observatory and take
careful inventory of everything that goes into the moving van, I reckon. That place is very well furnished, thanks not to our government, but to Nelson Rockefeller, who refused to live in it because for his standards, it was a shithole. He redid the whole place and furnished it, as a gift to the nation.

So, we should be certain no one takes any souvenirs--payback is a bitch, eh??

http://www.bop.gov/locations/institutions/cum/index.jsp

But I have to think he is counting on a swift chimpy pardon, you know, "for the good of the country" and all...to uh, "put the past behind us" and uh, gee, gosh, he "is unwell, heart disease, bad knees, on a cane, poor fella..."

It'll be the same shit as Nixon. Remember, he had phlebitis, and actually got out of testifying because of it!!!

He probably has every dollar every DUer spent on taxes for the last ten years and then some.

But St. Michaels? This is tragic. There's already enough pollution on the Chesapeake.

21. Sure, but he strikes me as CHEAP
I picture him pinching a silver dollar until the eagle shrieks in agony. His wife sure is--why isn't she giving some poor decorator a chance to shine, with all the cash they have?

and it's a old maxim- rich people leave chambermaids a mess while working stiffs leave you a $5 bill.

26. As a former working stiff myself, who paid my way through college
by doing a lot of incredibly menial, backbreaking jobs, I can relate. Some of those folk just do not get it.

I tip well at restaurants, I thank waitpersons and table bussers, I do not forget chambermaids, and I never forget my please and thank you, like anyone who was raised right.

It isn't the POOR that are causing many establishments to do the European thing and add a mandatory tip to the bill, it is the cheapass rich. They should be ashamed of themselves.

25. Well, well, well--it appears Dick WAS preparing a contingency plan
What else could it be? We hear lately that Monkeyboy excoriated Rove for playing the Plame game, surely he had to be talking to Cheney about it, Scooter is in this up to his ass...I suspect they are gonna try to cut off the Cheney arm, like that mountain climber who sawed his own arm off to save his life.

Let's hope the rock of justice rolls right over on Chumpy the mountaineer....

28. Republicans, in true elitist fashion, love land.
Anyone who knows anything about the history of Western economies and the class system knows that the great divider of the classes has not been whose stock portfolio is fatter, but it is who has more land with bigger and fancier houses.

Other than that philosophical point, it's probably because he doesn't think he's going to be around in his job much longer.
